The perfect @airbnb does exist, and it’s in Ireland. I have a bunch of mates from uni that I only get to see once a year. It started with a trip to Glasgow, where Liam introduced the group to a big hike up Ben Vane.

Every since then, we’ve made sure to centre our reunion’s around spending time outdoors, in nature and resting. We all live busy lives, and these weekends are an opportunity to come back energised, rather than exhausted.

It’s my favourite trip of the year.

POV: You find THE MOST INCREDIBLE swim spot whilst driving across Ireland with a group of friends. Swipe to find the Panoramic ->

On our way to Dingle, we had to drive up and through The Conor Pass, the highest mountain in Ireland. We parked the car, and started climbing up to get a better view of the valley. What we were greeted with was a stunning lake, overshadowed by a gigantic facade. We were on a tight time schedule, not enough time to run back and get our swimmers, so without towels, nor anywhere to change, we stripped off and headed in.

1000 Days Sober. Feels quite surreal to even write that. It didn’t start because I had a problem, I never really intended for it to become permanent. I was doing a lot of long distance training to raise my cardiovascular fitness and alcohol was just hammering my recovery. That and my Garmin telling me that I’m worthless on a daily basis.

A while became a year.
A year became two.
And somehow, here we are at 1000 days.

Somewhere along the line “I’m not drinking” became “I don’t drink”. Less temporary and more permanent. Everyone’s sobriety journey is different, we all stop for different reasons but ultimately end up at the same place. And that is just enjoying more of what life has to offer. It was a simple choice that started small and over time, compounded into some pretty drastic lifestyle changes. I don’t recognise the person I was three, four even five years ago now.

After a while, I began to question, “What event is going to be so mega, so monumental that marks the perfect occasion for me to have a drink again?” And I don’t think there is one. No birthday, festival or wedding do I think that alcohol will improve the circumstances.

I don’t miss it. I don’t feel like I’m waiting for the day I can have a drink again. At this point, I don’t think I ever will.

The City of Berlin. This March I had the pleasure of running the half marathon there, with a day either side to explore some of this dystopian yet historical city. And yes, no photo of that famous Radio Tower. You know the one I mean, with the big ball.

From jazzy coffee shops, impressive government buildings and immaculate design in every detail, Berlin is a very clean, very vibrant city to explore, on the inside. I found overall architecture, literally a city of two halves, with post-war modernism and raw brutalism (slide 01) met with patchworks of modern design in the form of glass (slide 16), pops of interior colour (Slide 02).

As an ex-architecture student and coffee lover, this city is definitely worth revisiting, as there is some much architectural history to dive in to. A street photographer’s dream.

A collection of lifestyle images for the launch of a new tower of apartments just of Hyde Park, in London, @the_bryanston .

We managed to pack in so many mini shoots across two days, to include both photography and film, utilising multiple talent in various scenarios. Long days, full of laughter and a sprinkle of craziness, the perfect shoot!

A sunny Sunday afternoon spent with @tokyobikelondon and @snowpeak_official sipping coffee, cooking marshmallows and learning to ride your first bike. A big part of my job is world-building, and building visual languages for products and brands. This was shot on cold February afternoon, with a little help from some winter sun and a few lights, I’m super happy with how the images came out.

Alongside @richardafrazier we built @tour_ist.creative for this exact reason. World building for premium products and services that emotionally resonates.

If there is one thing that I’ll never be able to give up, it’s a freshly brewed coffee on a cosy Sunday afternoon…

When you finally figure out your direction in this crazy world of freelance photography, and you have it clear in your mind, it suddenly opens up a whole new way of seeing old work. I have SO MUCH work that is just sitting on hard drives waiting for its moment to shine, but never really found where it is supposed to live. More and more people ask for Instagram profiles over portfolios, and I can’t help but think it has something to do with the following.

If you don’t have a big following, are you even worth considering? I love the fact I don’t have a large following, no pressure, no worries, just a little corner of the internet where I can share my passion for all things photography. Thanks for stopping by x

This is Day 18 of posting everyday on Instagram for no particular reason other than to update the feed. I’m trailing Meta’s verified status to see if it makes a difference, SHOCKER it doesn’t. If anything I am getting less and less engagement for every post I do, and I very much look forward to day 30 where I can actually go back to enjoying some peace and not the daily pressure of deciding why to put up.
