MEMORY FOAM - Edinburgh Fringe 2026

So happy to be heading back to Edinburgh this summer with a new show! Come and join me in my loft as I sort through boxes of forgotten possessions, uncover family history and receive expert financial advice.

Edinburgh Fringe 2026. That was probably one of the best months of my life and I am really going to miss it. The exhaustion has hit me round the head like a shovel today so this won’t be as eloquent or detailed a post as I wanted.

Taking two solo shows as well as doing spots on other shows was bonkers but I’m so glad it did it. The Fringe has definitely served its purpose and I’ve come out the other side of it a better comedian. The family show was so much fun and utterly knackering. Memory Foam is probably my favourite thing I’ve ever created and feeling it bed in and evolve over the month was amazing.

Massive thanks to everyone who came to watch my shows, it means the flipping world.

Thank you so everyone who has made this month possible, some of whom were immortalised on cardboard at the end of Memory Foam.

Thanks @gildedballoon for letting me play one of my dream fringe venues. And to the brilliant venue team Michael and Duncan.

Thanks @thepleasance (particularly @tailspin ) for having me back. Will miss seeing the fantastic Jack Dome team every day!

Have to mention @standupandrew who I am so grateful to call a friend. He helped me when I was struggling to get any semblance of a show together for my first work in progress and has been a constant support. Been great to catch up (have a Nandos) most days of the fringe and to witness his well-deserved acclaim for his incredible show.

Thanks to my family and friends for all their support. I could not have done it without the help, advice, support and wisdom of so many people.

Faces of the Fringe: Max Fulham

My parents bought me a puppet for Christmas when I was about nine years old and it’s sort of gone from there really. We started out doing kids’ shows because I was still a kid, and then I took a gap year and ended up going full-time and cancelling my place at uni, which was not what I expected to do. From the age of four to 11 I lived just outside Edinburgh, so I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing if it wasn’t for the Fringe. I’d watch shows at the Fringe as a kid. So I sort of have the Fringe to blame for what I do, really. Last year was my debut, so this is year two. This is the difficult sequel year. I was very nervous because last year I put everything into the show and got to September and was like, I don’t have anything to do. How am I going to create a whole other show? There’s no way I’m going to be able to do that. But we did it. And here we are now. The biggest fear is people wouldn’t like the show, the jokes wouldn’t work and it wouldn’t be funny. It’ll be shit. That people won’t laugh, really. That’s the only reason I’m doing it. This has always been what I’ve wanted to do. Occasionally you go, oh, I’d love a job that I could forget about at the end of a working day, or a job that has weekends. I’m very bad at taking time off because an inquiry comes in and you go, well, I am technically free, so I probably should say yes to that. But I’m such a comedy nerd. There’s so much comedy to see here, I’m in my element. It’s proof that you can create anything. You can literally create anything. I watched everything at the Fringe as a kid. It’s the place where the passion started for me. So to come back here with my own thing reconnects me to why I do this. I’d love more people to see this show. I think I’ve created something good here, so I’d love for it to have a life beyond the Fringe in some way. I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I’m very bad at goal setting. People have a five-year plan or whatever. That’s not my style. As long as I am making people laugh in bigger and better ways, then that is sort of it for me.
