we are excited to announce the solo show HEIKLE ANGELEGENHEITEN by @maxgrote_ in Stuttgart!

Opening 9th October, 18 - 22 h
Running though 13th November

Max Grote’s work draws on motifs from the Renaissance and the Middle Ages, which he frequently subverts with irony or stages theatrically. In doing so, he builds a bridge between historical visual worlds, his personal surroundings, and his reality as a young artist in an apparently impenetrable art market.

Central motifs include ruffs from the early Dutch Baroque, horses and unicorns, as well as landscapes that provide his figures with an estranged, at times unreal stage.

After the busy gallery weekend Berlin, we officially opened the first solo show of @maxgrote_
Den Äther braten in Berlin. The show features the latest paintings from the 23 years old German artist, which oscillate between deliberately crafted, at times absurd pathos, exaggeration and art-historical references. A central aspect of this is the reinterpretation of sacred pictorial themes.
