This one means a lot to me. ❤️

To see **Maximus Grooves** mentioned in this article alongside so many incredible DJs, friends, pioneers, and peers from our scene is honestly a full-circle moment.

In the early rave days, I wasn’t one of the DJs behind the decks, my role was mainly as a promoter, doing everything I could to spread the word about the parties, bringing people together, and helping grow this underground culture that we all believed in so deeply.

Those days shaped who I am.

And now, all these years later, to be following my own passion for DJing, making music, and getting the opportunity to play alongside people I’ve known, respected, danced with, promoted, and shared this journey with for decades… it really is a dream come true.

The rave scene has always been about more than who was behind the decks. It was the promoters, DJs, dancers, crews, artists, warehouses, flyers, phone lines, record stores, and every person who showed up and helped create something special together.

I’m incredibly grateful to **Camp OG**, Insomniac, and everyone who continues to honor where this culture came from while keeping it moving forward.

From spreading the word about the parties back then…

to stepping behind the decks today.

**What a journey. And we’re still here. ❤️**

This weekend at Nocturnal Wonderland honestly felt surreal. ❤️ Being back at Nocturnal, playing my sets, surrounded by my Camp OG family, and getting the opportunity to play that 4 hour after hours set… I had moments where I just looked around and thought, how did I get here?

But I know how I got here.

I kept going.

That’s what this weekend reminded me to follow your compass. Trust your gut. Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. You never know when everything you’ve been working toward is going to meet you at the right moment.

This was one of those moments for me.

Thank you to everyone who danced, hugged me, supported me, sent messages, shared my music and was part of this weekend.

Still taking it all in. ❤️

🙏🏼 GRATITUDE

📸 @image.art.ent — thank you for capturing the magic.

❤️ My wife, @ultraone — for always being by my side. I love you.

✨ The Universe — for the timing and the journey.

🙏🏼 @pasqualerotella & the @insomniacevents family — thank you for creating this beautiful space for our music, culture and community. Truly a gift.

🏕️ Camp OG — my family. You already know. ❤️

Nothing but love & gratitude.

A few weeks ago I got an unexpected phone call from an old friend I hadn’t connected with in a long time. She asked me if I would come shoot her husband, @maximusgrooves at @nocturnalwland // I was pretty excited but also a bit nervous since I’d never shot at a festival rave of this scale.

Max is an old-school raver. He’s a former Insomniac employee and promoter, and he’s been deeply committed to this culture for a long time. This was his festival debut, so it was a cool experience for both of us.

The timing couldn’t have been better. I’ve been working to improve my photography because it’s a passion, and it’s also an opportunity to create professionally.

It was my first time at Glen Helen, which is crazy because it’s so close. It was an amazing experience that felt like another world. All generations and all walks of life were out there living their alternative egos, dressed to the nines in the wild outfit of choice. I was wearing all black (as all photogs are required to) and felt like I was sticking out.

Everyone was super high, happy, joyful and full of energy and positivity, and there was a lot of love in the air. There were the typical festival antics too, which you can imagine.

Max played an incredible set at the Beatbox stage. Then we went to the after party at Camp OG, where he played another hour set, and he wrapped the night at the Insomniac after party with a four-hour set till the sun came up. That’s a big debut.

Thank you @ultraone for the call, and @maximusgrooves for bringing me into your world, hope you enjoy the images. ATB by @maximusgrooves
