Eden a few short weeks ago I had no idea I’d be scrolling through thousands of photos trying to pick a few to create a farewell montage for you. A place for you to come back to anytime you need a reminder that we’re here and we love you wherever you are in the world, you will carry our hearts with you always ❤️

New Zealand is a long way away but we truly hope it becomes a place where you find peace and happiness as well as fun and adventure, somewhere to lift your spirits to the height they belong.

You are an amazing, beautiful young woman, full of kindness and generosity. Funny and sweet, clever and considerate, the sort of person everyone needs to know and I’m extremely proud to call you my Daughter……New Zealand will be so very lucky to have you.

Time for a sewing recap and what a great year 2025 has been in so many ways ❤️

High points will always include connecting with other supportive, talented, and creative people from the online global community. Becoming a part of this is something I would never have imagined and now I couldn’t imagine my life without it. In some way, shape or form, being able to sew brings me joy every day, a feeling which I’m sure many of you share.

I’ve loved attending events such as @welshfrocktailscymru and @surreysews Sewfizzticated, nothing better than meeting others IRL who share your passion 🥰

I was lucky enough to win prizes in sewing challenges and raffles and was
touched to have photos of my makes become website images and asked to be a pattern tester too. Unfathomable really when I’d never sewed before lockdown. All that I’ve learnt has been thanks to the generosity of others sharing their talents and a bit of Google and YouTube thrown into the mix!

I’ve loved so many of the things I’ve made but certain things are special including the green Liberty silk dress I made as a wedding outfit and the lovely pink floral co-ord I wore to Welsh Frocktails. I have to include my last 3 makes of the year as I felt fabulous in them and they rounded off the year perfectly.

i’m so excited by the prospect of new sewing projects for 2026, I hope it’s a wonderful year for you all.

Thank you for following along and supporting my journey. It really means so much 🎄🥰

Breakfast date today wearing this mainly Vinted outfit.

Jacket £12 (Zara) and jeans £10 H&M. Teamed with a TKMaxx pink cardi, matching blue Gola’s and 18 year old pearls from Dubai I was set to go. Brooch was cheap from Amazon but it reminds me of Chanel’s Camellia flower and, if they ever produced it in a brooch I would definitely be buying one!

Last night’s dinner outfit put back on today to get some daylight photos so you can actually see the true colours and details!

A wet birthday (thanks for all the birthday love 🥰) didn’t stop me dressing up for the occasion and I got to wear these new @mintvelvet wide leg trousers for the first time and they’re such gorgeous fabric, beautifully tailored with bound inner seams and an elasticated back which means they fit perfectly and were still comfortable after finishing my lovely meal.

This outfit is one of 2 parts really as the trousers weren’t cheap but the Claudie Pierlot Paris blouse with it’s beautiful pleated collar and cuffs and the Boden faux fur jacket were both recent Vinted purchases that cost around £50 for both 🙌 A slight contrast to the bright colourful top I wore earlier but for an Autumn night out it felt just right 🍂🍁

Yep I’m an October girl, 58 today in fact and doing some dopamine dressing on a grey wet day! I absolutely love this bright jersey from @jinnyandjoe and teamed with the matching ribbing and the @mavenpatterns #mavensomerset pattern it makes a fabulous colourful t-shirt. Matching brooch is from @sahara_london and please don’t feel the need to point out my “flower boobs” to me as my husband has kindly done that already 🤣 I was so careful planning the central and neckline flowers I didn’t give a thought to the others 🫣

And the weekend just keeps on getting better with the arrival of my Edie blouse from @sezane. I discovered it on my recent trip to Paris but didn’t buy it and of course got home and wished I had! Happily wearing it to a gathering this afternoon.

You may remember me asking for pattern recommendations for pussy bow blouses and this was the reason why, I fully intend to make one in the stunning deep blue organza I did buy in Paris because you can never have enough sheer; puffy sleeved bow blouses right?! 😍

On another note THANK YOU so much for all the love for my Frocktails dress. Blown away by all your generous compliments. I’m so touched and have read them all and will get round to replying soon. (May not be today depending on how much wine is consumed!)

Finally I got to wear my beautiful @fibremood #nyladress for @Londonfrocktails last night. See the last slide for some catwalk action! Thanks to the lovely @annetteart1 for the clip! 😘

It was a brilliant evening catching up with wonderful sewing friends and meeting new ones.
This has to be another of my favourite makes (there’s been a few!) and I may not get lots of opportunities to wear it but it will remain a special part of my handmade wardrobe.

Fabric was a very special Zimmermann deadstock from @yardbloxfabrics purchased at the beginning of the year.
The Nyla was the perfect pattern for this delicate watercolour style floral fabric in a mulberry silk and linen blend.
It has structure and bounce; perfect for these puffy lantern sleeves and big tiers.

The bottom one is nearly 5m wide and I worked out I sewed around 35m on this tier alone. I french seamed all but the gathered tiers. I added the flowers to compensate for the lack of printed flowers on the bodice and really love how they elevate it into a more designer inspired piece. Very fiddly job hand painting every petal edge with clear nail polish to prevent fraying

On Wednesday I decided my piece of bargain €9 lilac wool type fabric purchased in Paris a week or so ago would make a perfect jacket. The shimmery lining fabric was a Vinted bargain and the pattern is the #sewdifferentstellablouson with added bow tie. It was the perfect piece to wear over the dress for the walk over the River at the end of a fantastic night.

Today I managed to get to @yourallypally and there may be a few more patterns and fabric pieces in the stash now!

Tripping home across the Thames after a wonderful evening! Thanks @londonfrocktails for organising such a great event it was brilliant to see everyone. I’ll share loads more photos of my dress and jacket soon as Ally Pally and fabric shopping are calling!

Today’s fashion experiment was a bit of fun….. could I could transform these High st purchases into a High end look. How do you think it turned out?

I don’t really have designer clothes, (although I love them for inspiration) I’d rather invest in accessories plus I love buying fabric and sewing too much to spend on huge price tag pieces although I’m lucky enough to have a few precious things which absolutely do amp up the style volume but are definitely not a necessity and the same look is easily achieveable with some carefully selected items.

If you watched till the end you saw how it started off. A basic striped tee (£12.99) and some loose fit trousers. Yes they’re not the best or most sustainable of fabrics but they can work perfectly well if you’re looking for style at an affordable price. Trousers are unlined (for a sale price of £14.99 I didn’t expect any different) but with the right skin tone underwear they look fine

The Chanel style light jacket was £28 and the scarf was £8 from TK Maxx. Outfit pieces all from H&M.

I love this look, it feels chic and stylish and it may well be my birthday dinner outfit next week! 😉🖤🤍

What I wore today for a trip to the salon for a bit of prettifying in advance of Friday night fun @londonfrocktails 🤩 so looking forward to the “oohing” and “ahhing” over everyone’s outfits, reuniting with all the lovely Welsh Frocktailers and meeting lots of other fabulous sewing folk irl. See you there if you’re going and if not hope to see you at another event soon 😍🎉

Outfit consists of all old pieces, some picked up on my travels 💕

It’s October and 24° which means I get another wear out of my #feliciapinaforedress by @tessutifabrics. Adding a co-ordinating tee extends it’s wearability into cooler months and I also added an @americanvintage_officiel knit vest purchased in Paris last week because it’s the perfect shade of pink💕 I added a hem frill to this one (love a frill) and think I need to make a denim or corduroy version for winter very soon!
Worn with my favourite Maeve pink sandals from Anthropologie and a NEXT tee.

My birthday is just around the corner and I’m so excited because I’ve bought myself a new sewing machine 🤩

No I absolutely didn’t need it but it’s a beast and a beauty of a machine and I imagine I’ll have it forever!
So sadly I need to find a new loving & creative home for my wonderful Brother Innov-is VQ2. Purchased from Frank Knutt in January ‘21 it’s a low usage machine having done a little below 2million stitches. I’ve literally sewn garments on it mainly in cottons and linens.

It has a whole heap of features and accessories and is in perfect working order. If you want a complete breakdown of its capabilities and what’s in the box just check out any retailer’s description as it’s a lot and there’s even more things I’ve purchased including an Invisible zipper foot, piping foot, extra bobbins etc.

The current retail price is around £2k and I will be listing mine on eBay for £1000 including UK delivery. It will come in its original packing box.

If you’re interested in this beautiful sewing & embroidery machine just let me know.

Delivery would be arranged for w/c 12th October, payment to be arranged by bank transfer.
