Here’s my story…

One thing I’ve come to accept recently: trust the process. Even when the road ahead feels like it’s miles away from where you want to be, trust that every step is guiding you exactly where you need to go.

And honestly, I’d tell my younger self: practice more, stress less. Seriously.

The truth is, becoming great is a journey of shedding layers.. all those identities you’ve built up around who you think you are?
They gotta go. The real you is already inside, waiting to step up and just be.

Okay, enough with the “woo-woo,” I can hear my friends rolling their eyes from here 🫠

I’ve been holding onto my originals (call it gatekeeping) because I was busy becoming.. iygm?

But she’s back, so stay tuned 👀 And if you’re new here, hey, I’m @maxinescottt — a UK Soul Artist, wandering the world, trying to master my craft, so I can finally release a body of work that slaps and feel proud of it.

Okay sending you love and light, my friend. xx by @maxinescottt

Can you put down the bottle
Let me show you how
I know it ain’t easy
But its hard to stick around

Will you at least try
Show me that you care
I’m sure you’d feel better babe
Knowing that I’m there

But I can’t take
Another fight,
Another break up
Another cry

The feds at my door said
you made it through the night.

But what if the next time
they say he’s not alive,
oh my brother cries for you…

LORD TAKE AWAY THIS MISERY
ALL I WANT IS SOME GOOD COMPANY
LET COLTRANE RING FROM THE STEREO
LET NANCY’S VOICE CARESS OUR EARS
BABE I’LL KNOW YOU’LL DRY MY TEARS
ITS JUST YOU & I
FOR THE NIGHT
WILL YOU HOLD ME TIGHT?

you suck at communication
i’ve said before that i’m done
if you can’t face it
cos it’s easier to hide
than speak a lie
if you’re over me fine
don’t be surprised
when i tell you that..

if I had a verse on Stevie’s “all in love is fair”

why? did you leave me I cry why?
was my love un tasteful
was I dishonest or unfaithful?
did I pressure you for marriage?
a horse and a bit white carriage
maybe baby you’re just scared of me
who I’ve grown into, who I’m meant to be
