Six months. Almost every day. 🧗‍♂️

Some of you know me from photography. Some know me from hiking. Some know I’m obsessed with dinosaurs. 🦖

But this is a new chapter.

I started climbing six months ago, and somewhere along the way, it became more than a hobby. It became the place where my brain finally gets quiet.

As a trans man of color, there’s a lot of noise in the world. Anger. Fear. Sadness. Things I can’t always control.

But when I’m on the wall?

None of that matters.

It’s just me, the holds, my feet, my next move, and figuring out how the hell I’m going to get there. 😂

For those few hours, my brain gets to reset. I get to be present. I get to push myself. I get to fall, try again, and celebrate the tiny victories.

And this is footage from my first climbing competition — Battle of the Ages at Adventure Rock Milwaukee. 🧗‍♂️🔥 @adventurerock

A huge thank-you to the two women who belayed me that last night. I’m terrible with names and, unfortunately, my brain forgot yours — but I appreciate you both more than you know. ❤️ I can’t wait to see you all again and climb together more!

Honestly, I’m excited to start climbing with more people instead of always climbing alone. There’s something pretty damn cool about finding a community through a sport I never expected to fall in love with.

Six months in.

Getting stronger. Trying again and again. Getting back on the wall always.

And finding a little peace somewhere between the holds.

Here’s to the next six months. 🧗‍♂️🖤

Let’s see where this takes me.

My big sister would be so fucking proud of me 🤍, I’m still scared of heights but not like before. Love you Sara 🩷😇

On a side note: I’ve leveled up my avocado toast by finally learning to poach eggs to perfection and now my 🥑 toast is complete 👨🏽‍🍳 🫰🏾😘!

Harbor Fest ‘26 with my bestie Kate was a blast! Saw some sturgeon released! A mermaid! We were on a boat! Good food, so many awesome booths to check out! And we walked through a shipwreck! Great Sunday!
