For a few days, Berlin runs on a different rhythm. The streets fill with runners, crews, conversations and anticipation, long before the starting line comes into view. I spent those days with my camera, looking for the moments that happen around the race — the ones that show the people behind the numbers and the shared energy that makes the Berlin Marathon what it is.

On July 9, I had the opportunity to photograph the first stop of the Amazfit MileSTONES Tour, hosted in collaboration with Runpack Berlin. The event brought together a select group of runners for a unique 8K experience through the streets of Berlin, with a strong focus on precision, pacing, and control. Rather than chasing personal bests, participants challenged themselves to maintain a consistent pace throughout the run. Supported by Amazfit’s technology, they were able to monitor their performance and pacing in real time. The atmosphere was both focused and welcoming, creating the perfect balance between performance and community. As a photographer, it was great to capture the energy of the group, the concentration during the run, and the authentic moments shared along the route. Beyond the run itself, the event highlighted the importance of connection, movement, and enjoying the process. A strong start to the Amazfit MileSTONES Tour and an exciting preview of what’s to come.

During the winter of 2025/26, I photographed the streets of Berlin. Not because I expected extraordinary moments, but because the quieter months without commissioned work are when I return to the streets to sharpen my eye and stay in a photographic flow. Winter settles over the city like a filter, altering the rhythm of everyday life. Darkness, fog, and cold strip the streets of their urgency, revealing a melancholy that is often hidden beneath the noise of the city. Heavy coats, scarves, and hats become more than protection from the temperature—they are shields against the oppressive atmosphere that defines the season. Faces appear frozen, eyes remain fixed on the ground, encounters are brief, and isolation becomes a shared condition. Berlin feels both crowded and strangely empty at the same time. These photographs are less about winter itself than about its quiet impact on the people moving through it. The series is both an ongoing exercise in seeing and an attempt to find something honest within the ordinary.
