SAES national round!!
Munton Racing team on the podium, 1 and 2. What a weekend and a dream come true!!

It was an interesting and crazy week on all fronts, I had a crash on Wednesday so we fixed the bike on Wednesday night and then we had nothing but electrical problems the whole of Thursday so I got minimal laps in on Thursday so we swapped a lot of electrical components from my dads bike to my bike and then both bikes worked so it might have just been a loose plug that we ended up plugging back in when we swapped the quick shifter.

Friday came and I was thankful to not have any electrical issues but I struggled for pace and couldn’t do a lap faster then 19,8 even with a new rear tyre😂
3 sessions in a row I ended with a 19,8 so I qualified in 2nd on a 19,8 and wasn’t to happy with myself and the pace but Saturday came around and I spun as many laps as I could in the morning warm up to try get more comfortable and to try find some more pace.

Race 1 came around and I got a decent start and hooked onto Slade and tried to take it to him but the race was cut short due to an accident on the exit of turn 2, so glad that both Adrain and Hilton walked away from the incident.

Race 2 I didn’t get as good of a start so it took me 2 laps to catch up to Slade and just as I caught him he had a technical issue that slowed him down considerably which was so unlucky and a really tough break for him, it would’ve been really fun to see how the battle would have turned out. After I saw I’d established a decent gap I took less risks and enjoyed spinning some laps in race conditions.

Race 3 I took a more cautious approach and once I had a few second gap I just circulated and brought it home

Despite the misfortune on others last weekend with bike issues and unfortunate crashes, I am still really proud of our performance and ecstatic that I got to share the podium with my old man.

Short circuit round 6

Round 6 had its challenges with a crash in race 2 but we recovered well finishing in 4th to not loose too many points

Race 1 and 3 I got good starts which was a positive from the weekend but I didn’t have the pace to go for the win

I’m still leading the 150 championship but only by 2 points so the end of the season is shaping up to be a to be a fun one!!

Great race last weekend!!

Made lots of progress and set some new PB’s🍾

Race 1 I got a little excited off the line and pulled a huge wheeling and got overtaken by multiple people into the first corner, by lap 3 I was back into 2nd but just didn’t have the pace to catch up to the leader

Race 2 I got a good start and fought for the lead throughout the whole race, that was one of the most exciting races I’ve ever been a part of, it was nose to tail from lap 1 till the checkered flag, finishing just 0.1 seconds behind @slade.van.niekerk
Even though we didn’t win I am very proud of our performance over the weekend and the progress we made and I can’t wait to continue improving and see how far we can push the envelope

Amazing weekend on the small bike

It was a weekend to remember as my extended family from Joburg and Australia came through to support and enjoy the racing🫶🏻

There were some tricky conditions in the morning practice and qualifying leaving visibility very low so I wobbled around during the practice feeling out the grip levels and then picked it up for qualifying

I felt really comfortable with the bike and the grip levels after the sun came up so I can’t thank @klintmunton enough for getting the bike ready for this weekend

I’m very happy with how the weekend went, the Sunscan Mag workshop 150 felt like an extension of me and getting into a nice rhythm every race
