still to this day, asking for help isn’t easy for me. I do love to figure things out on my own, but I’ve also come to learn the life-changing benefits of having someone in my corner, someone who can help me see myself more clearly.

it’s an honor to get to sit on the other side of that for so many people now. if you’re open to a change and support, and any of my things resonate, send me a message.

if you know anyone who might benefit from a conversation with me, send them my way or reach out to me about how to best engage them. by @maxokazaki

MAX 2029

I’m 32. My life and business are doing amazing.

I love who I’m being and the impact I’m having. It feels so easy and aligned. I’m living from a place of purpose and aliveness - in my zone of genius.

I deeply trust myself to handle any situation with grace and gratitude, flowing like water. Continually aligning my energy and attention to be focused on the present moment, not siphoned by the past, future, or things I cannot control.

I’ve prioritized being over doing. Life is fun. My inner child is seen, respected, and loved. I experience simple joys, all my emotions, and deep gratitude for life.

I am relaxed and confident in my relationships because I have nothing to prove. I clearly communicate my needs and wants into the world. I don’t hold back due to fears.

I’ve learned to trust my inner guidance, knowing that my higher self is guiding me on my unique journey. I am living my potential and continually growing. I’m giving my best in every moment, knowing that’s all life (and my soul) asks for. I’m continually learning to embrace all parts of me, doing the inner work to shine a light on my shadows and unlearn disempowering conditioning.

I have an incredible ability to hold space for others: noticing, listening, respecting, challenging, and empowering. I am a leader, illuminator, and healer. I surround myself with people who want the best for themselves and the world around them - who take responsibility for their actions and their growth.

I don’t shy away from hard (and magical) conversations. I’m unfazed by hearing “no” and no longer attach it to my worth. I have beautiful and powerful conversations because I love them.

Life has been an ongoing journey of seeing the next clearest step and taking it, only to reveal the next step after that. All I can do is be here and now, doing my best with what I know, trusting it will all be okay.

Thank you Max from 2024, 2023, and all versions of me that have come before and will come in the future. I’m so grateful that I’ve continually invested in myself.

I am living in the now.

I asked my grandma for words of wisdom.

“Love what you have, because it may not always be there.”

I hope those words from her bring a little bit more love and appreciation to you right now. The world’s been seeming a little extra terrible recently but I do believe love is always also available, even alongside the fear and hate. Tell your people you love them.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying with my grandparents over the last few months and it has been a great blessing. I didn’t always see it this way but I’ve come to love it ❤️ by @maxokazaki

Trying to figure out what’s next has kept me more stuck than not knowing ever did.

For a long time I’ve been trying to get it right.
The right niche. The right offer. The right plan.
Every idea had to be the right answer.
So every idea also felt too heavy to start.
And not starting felt like proof I still hadn’t figured it out.

So I tried a different question in my journal:
“If I stopped trying to make my life make sense, what would I naturally do next?”

The answers were almost boring.
Family. Friends. Eat. Sleep. Go outside. Make something cool.

Then I asked what actually makes me feel alive.
Not ideas. Things I already do.
Great conversations. Running. Watching people do hard things. Doing them together.

Somewhere in there I wrote “(wow, this feels good, energetic, exciting…)”
And then:
I help people do hard things.

So I wrote: “I want to run 2 more Courage Habit groups.”
And right underneath, the weight came straight back:
“even now writing this, that idea of ‘commit’ makes it feel like it’s again me wanting to figure it out.”

That’s when it clicked.
I’m not scared of committing.
I’m scared of making it mean everything (and potentially getting it wrong).

So I’m not necessarily building a Courage Habit Group or Coaching business.
I’m doing something that excites me, something I’d love to do anyways, and inviting others into that.

A month of doing one hard thing, next to other people doing theirs.

The next one starts on October 1st.

Let’s see what happens.

Send this to the friend who’s trying to figure it all out before they start.

And send me a message if you have something you’ve been wanting to do, but haven’t figured out how to start and follow through.

I’ve been feeling a strong hum of “I need to be somewhere else, further along, more of x, y, and z.”

there was a point a couple of years ago where I didn’t feel this. where I’d worked through a lot of the expectations and really felt like I was living in the now. present. doing my best, where I was.

but our journeys aren’t straight lines.

for me, its been easy to get pulled back into the rush of life, especially with everything we get to see online and staying “connected” to the world.

I’m so grateful for the people and nature that remind me of what’s real. there’s a strong pull created by the governing structures and superstructures that can distract us from what’s actually real and meaningful for us.

it’s not easy to get away from that when everyone around us is rushing around too. checking the boxes. doing all the things.

and even once we’ve touched real stillness, real truth, it’s easy to get pulled back into the other way of living. because it feels easier. trusting ourselves, reconnecting to our own power, is not an easy path. there’s a lot of unknown there too. the path of rushing, the path we’re handed, feels easier because it’s sold to us as proven — like it’ll work (and require hard work 😤).

but it won’t.
that path catches up with you eventually.

so I’m here for this one. the inner path. the seemingly more unknown one (although that’s a lil rabbit hole itself). because when I’ve been connected to it, and learned to distinguish what’s actually mine from what isn’t, it’s been the most rewarding path I’ve felt.

and now, I’m reconnecting with it again. and trying to stay connected.

with love,
slow down,
be here,

THEY SAID YES. Can’t wait to be back in Bangkok and create something else with them. I had pretty limited footage based on the first time I went in, so I made what I could and I love how this turned out…

How much do you consider what the brand stands for and who is behind a company when buying things?

I think in this age where it is so easy to build and ship something, the stories and purpose behind a company is becoming evermore important.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the people and story behind TRUFFLE+/ORIGINALS (@truffle.officialbkk) a little more, and I’m excited for them and their future.

Perhaps one angle for this ongoing series will be to collaborate and highlight people building things that inspire me. And to potentially even help someone who wants to build something figure out how to really make it something born from who they really are?

If you know any cool founders or people working on inspiring things, I’d love to meet them 🫶🏻 taken in Truffle+/originals by @maxokazaki

I also know these questions can be overwhelming for people who do feel extra lost or don’t think there’s any way to change or get unstuck.

There’s always a way - a marathon is run step by step, and even if you can’t take a step, you can work up to it and be there eventually.

I recently started reading this book called The Soul of Money and it talks about how most of us trade our souls and what we really want to do in order to make money. So many of our thoughts and actions tread in the river of scarcity, both those who don’t have much money and those who have an abundance of it. No answers yet but it’s been a really interesting read so far and I think very aligned with this idea that we need to check in with our souls and what is most meaningful to us.

Everyone’s process is different and not everyone needs to go into hermit mode for as long as I like to - but regardless of what it looks like for you: it’s important to check in about if how you’re currently living is still how you want to be living.

I see a tendency for people to just slip into autopilot or choose what makes the most sense on paper VS actually checking in with what they deeply want, which I’ve found can even change as we learn more and more about ourselves and how we’ve been conditioned.

Follow along as I learn how to live more meaningfully and inspire others to do the same 🤍 by @maxokazaki

day 1 (part 2!) of building a 10k a month life on my terms.

I’ve feared being told “no” (or whatever version of “not right now”) for a long time and sometimes I let it even deter me from continuing something or trying again. and I know there’s a lot of us out there who feel the same way, especially if we’re working on something really close to us.

but guess what: “Yes lives in the land of No.” You won’t ever get your Yes unless you’re willing to hear a No. so get out there and go collect some Nos (whatever that means applied to what you’re building)

In this case, I was told to essentially come back later, but I was feeling persistent, ended up going back into the store, trying on some clothes anyways, and recording a little bit. It was fun and I’m really grateful the team let me do that even as they were closing up.

day 1 of building a 10k a month life on my terms.

today, that meant walking into a store I stumbled upon in Bangkok with no pitch, no plan, and asking if they wanted to collaborate.

I didn’t know what I was going to offer them or what they’d say. I was nervous, and I did it anyway!

big shoutout to @miksugs for encouraging me, filming this, and asking important questions.

and thanks to @truffle.officialbkk for being open to it.
watch what happened.

June 2026. Been wanting to get back into posting more life recaps as photo dumps cause that’s one thing I miss doing. Contemplated how far back to go cause every month contains gold when I really look back.

I’d like to think my capacity for love has increased (well, I know it has, I feel it) when I’m able to look back on months that may have felt hard and chaotic in the moment but can now see it more clearly and with appreciation that it happened the way it did.

This was my June of 2026. I had just gotten back to the US at the end of May and this was my first full month back. Lots of construction work at a rental property. I call slide 2 nature vs machine. I think in the end, nature will always win. Using my hands to build things has been rewarding in many unexpected ways.

Family trip to the river up near Mt Hood was amazing. Got lots and lots of nature time. Dips in the freezing river. Ooey gooey s’mores. Trillium Lake (my fav!).

Another big highlight was beginning an 8-week trail running program through @arcteryx - it has been an outstanding experience running more consistently outside and being a part of that community (this will get its own post someday).

Went to my first @5sos concert and we stole Michael 😂. Someday those videos will be released. Until then, you’re missing out a lil. We started setting up the doll around the house to scare the crap out of each other.

Lots more happened but that’s all I’m writing now.

Big love 💗
