Rest easy Gianni, Blessed to have met you brother🙏🏼 I want to remind everyone not to take some time out, but to take A time out. Pause, and breathe. Touch base with those who may not be in your day to day. I see so much progress, and I'm elated for all who are working hard towards their next step. However we can get so engulfed in our daily grind that it is easy to go months without speaking to those who are not right next to us, overlooking the fact that tomorrow is not guaranteed.
The news really hit hard. He was so loving, a genuine pleasure to be around. He never let any negativity change his demeanor, and you simply could not remain sad/angry around him. That trademark laugh was infectious, a true burst of joy from the heart that definitely would light up a room, along with his random dancing lol. He was so welcoming, on my first night shift he taught me even though that wasn't his job. Having low seniority, I would get heavier workloads, yet he helped, on top of his own task, just so I wouldn't get hurt. Whether I was super nervous or frustrated, he'd just say "Maxxamilliano! Don't worry!" and proceed to help. Magic. Frustration gone. This man was the definition of constant joy, and could put anyone at ease. We would sometimes randomly dance when we crossed paths instead of a normal greeting. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet him, has left that interaction better than when they started, and I definitely try to emulate.

Rides home were my favorite. He wouldn't want to take them just not to inconvenience anyone, but I'm happy I insisted. Besides all of the laughing, he taught me to always keep my cool and not to stress what is out of my control because more often than not, what angers you won't be relevant at the end of the day/ 5years. Plus we would always enjoy a versatile music selection, from old hip hop to Caribbean, latin, even country. "Si muunii!!" (Insider lol) He had an open mind, and an open heart. Not sure if the heavens are prepared for all of the laughing and dancing. I appreciate you for always being such a positive force, We will all cherish those memories. Our family is so blessed to have you @nadirajack Thank you for being such an amazing role model, especially for young women. Always helping others, and elevating every aspect of your life.
The most admirable thing is that you saw a broken education system, and decided to fix it from within vs backing away from a daunting task. That impact of your micro society program will be felt for generations, and I really hope the rest of America follows your lead.
