Today, I want to take a moment to honor and appreciate this man who’s a true example of selflessness and sacrifice, and I am forever grateful for the life I have today because of your sacrifices.⁣
⁣
When I think about your journey to America, leaving EVERYTHING behind for the dream to provide me with a better future, it fills my heart with an overwhelming sense of admiration and appreciation. I didn’t have this appreciation when I was younger. Now I understand and see my Pops as another man who did his very best to figure things out.

We may not have ever been wealthy in terms of money or material possessions, but growing up you've taught me that true wealth lies in the values we hold and the lessons we learn.⁣

From a young age, you instilled in me the importance of gratitude. You showed me that no matter our circumstances, we should always be grateful for what we have. ⁣

You also taught me the value of hard work and the pursuit of an honest living. I watched you tirelessly strive to provide for our family, working countless hours with dedication and determination. So much that I rarely remember you being there for birthdays or holidays but your work ethic has become my inspiration, driving me to pursue my dreams with unwavering passion. You showed me that success is not measured solely by monetary gains but by the integrity and effort we put into everything we do.⁣

But above all, Dad, you taught me the power of genuine connection and kindness. Your ability to genuinely care for and connect with people is unparalleled. Happy Mother’s Day 엄마! ❤️ This day is dedicated to you. I can’t thank you enough for all the sacrifice that you made raising me the past 27 years. As I grew older and got married I really started to understand how much of your own life you had to sacrifice to make sure that I have the life that I have now.
Giving everything up in your own country at such a young age to immigrate to New York for the dream of having a better life for my future. I can’t imagine how hard it must’ve been as an immigrant to survive in a place that was so foreign to you and Dad. Thank you for providing me with your unconditional love no matter how tough life must have been for you and Dad. Thank you for being brave and being such a strong woman! Now I know why you had to be so tough but really you’re so fragile and softhearted on the inside. I’m sorry for the times when I wasn’t the best son to you and Dad growing up. I can’t express how grateful I am for everything you’ve done for me. The times when I didn’t understand the reason why we lived the way we did you used to tell me that you and Dad did the best you can with what you had. That you guys were much happier than you were back in Korea but more so because of me. There’s no way I can pay back what you’ve done for me but I promise you I will be the best son I can be to You and Dad for the rest of your lives. From two kids in high school with no idea where life would take us… to standing beside you on one of the biggest days of your life

Kevin you’ve always been more than a best friend to me. You’ve been an older brother, a mentor, and someone I’ve looked up to for a huge part of my life. Through every chapter whether it be the wins, setbacks, careers, families, and everything in between, you’ve always been someone I could call, someone who ALWAYS took the time to listen and someone who also pushed me to think bigger

Watching you build the life you have today has made me proud but seeing you marry the woman you love might be your greatest accomplishment yet

I know Darren would be incredibly proud of his older brother (as he’s always been) today too cheering you both on every step of the way through life

After all these years, we’re still here for each other’s biggest moments and that’s something I’ll never take for granted

What’s your ONE THING? Just finished re-reading The One Thing written by Gary Keller our co-founder & executive chairman of @kellerwilliamsrealty for our book club and thought it’d helpful to share my 3 biggest takeaways. This is one of those books that hits differently every time I come back to it in different stages in my life and it’s a great read to help simplify everything in your life.

I’ve got more going on in life now than ever before but somehow life feels a lot simpler.

Being laser focused on my top priorities and sticking to a time-blocked routine gives me clarity on what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and where I’m headed.

Most days at least 😂

Some days everything goes completely off schedule because of things outside of my control but hey that’s life. The goal isn’t to control everything. It’s to stay focused on what matters most.

Here are my top 3 takeaways from the book:

First, not everything is equally important—get clear on what deserves your focus and say no to distractions. For me, that means prioritizing family, businesses, and a small circle of close people.

Second, stay locked in on your big why and reverse engineer your path, cutting out noise to focus on what moves you forward.

Third, time block for what matters—health, family, and business—and protect those appointments like they’re unbreakable. Life isn’t about doing more; it’s about consistently doing what actually matters most.

Dear Son, You changed my Life the moment you were born. You’ll never owe me anything. But I’ll owe you my best everyday.

My Son, you are my compass in Life now 🧭 You gave me a clearer direction in life than I’ve ever had before.

Everyday you make me think about the man I want to become, the example I want to set, the goals I want to chase, the businesses I want to build, and the person I still need to grow into.

Growing up, my Father was a workaholic. He worked constantly even missing birthdays yet somehow it still felt like we never had enough. But I also know this, he was doing his best with what he had. He was trying to provide, to sacrifice, to give us a better life in the only way he knew how. I can see that more clearly now than I ever could as a kid.

I remember telling myself when I was young that if I ever had a Son of my own, I wanted to do things differently. I wanted to work hard enough and build enough, not just to give him a better life, but to eventually give him the most valuable thing I could ever give him: my TIME.

Son, I promise to be there in life when you need me most. To watch you grow up. To experience life with you. To be your Dad, your protector, your role model, and your best friend.

It’s crazy to think that something I promised myself as a kid has become my reality today.

Your Mom and I are working harder than we ever have but now there’s an even greater purpose behind every long day, every sacrifice, every goal and every dream we’re chasing.

It’s you.

Everything we’re building is so that one day, we can have the freedom to spend as much time with you as we want.

Thank you for being my compass in life Son. Thank you for constantly reminding me what actually matters.

No matter how old you get, I’ll always be here to guide you, protect you, love you, and stand beside you.
