I got to tell this man that we went to the same high school in Hawaii. He gave me a 🤙🏼 and we chatted for a brief moment (also probably blacked out for a quick sec). What an honor to meet and photograph him. Life is wild. by @maxwanger

We kicked off fall Picture Day with epic back-to-back weekends at our favorite @sundaysfurniture in Santa Monica & NYC. 🎉 Up next, we’re taking the weekend off to fill up on candy and then will be heading to SF! We still have a few spots available in the Bay and just added a December date in LA. As always, link to book in profile! #pictureday by @maxwanger
The only constant is change. Kids get bigger. Houses change. Pets move on. Family dynamics shift. Each session is just a tiny glimpse. A moment in time. A way to remember what life looked and felt like right then. Family sessions are open for January, February and March. Link to book in profile. by @maxwanger
There are always the photos you know you’re taking, and then there are the ones you notice later. Someone in the background. A look between two people. A kid doing something completely unrelated to whatever we were trying to make happen. Those are usually my favorites. Family sessions are open for January, February and March. Our summer road trip home took us from Orcas Island to Seattle, Portland, Bend, San Francisco, and finally back to Los Angeles. Along the way, we photographed more than 50 families. At beaches, museums, front yards, backyards, bedrooms, living rooms, parks, farms, forests, and everywhere in between. This is why we do what we do. To meet new people. To see families who keep inviting us back. To capture a moment in time. The joy, the chaos, the quiet, the in-between. After more than 20 years of photographing families, I’m still learning. Still trying new things, taking risks, making mistakes. Still finding new ways to see. I’m thankful for a summer that reminded me why I still love doing this. We’ll of course be doing @its_picture_day this fall, but for the first time in a long time we’re also opening up a limited number of family sessions for January, February and March. It’s our favorite time of the year. Holiday Picture Day is officially open for booking! ✨ LA + NYC + SF + OC + SD. Limited spots available. Link in bio. by @maxwanger
On our roadtrip this summer, we were fortunate to make a stop in Napa. We rode our bikes surrounded by vineyards. We spent long afternoons by the pool. We ate incredible food. Most of all, we were given the gift of slowing down. Thank you @fsnapavalley for this slice of summer. #fsnapavalley by @maxwanger
Bare feet and wildflowers. Endless evenings and golden light. Low tides and the wonders of the ocean floor. Children who sprout overnight. The always familiar longing to slow down time. Pieces of summer, captured along the way. Next stops: Seattle, Portland, Bend, San Francisco, and back to LA. Link in profile to book one of our few remaining sessions in the wild before the end of the year. by @maxwanger
You agreed to be part of a music series I was creating without hesitation. You invited me into your room at the Chateau Marmont. You’ll never know how nervous and excited I was. You were kind, soft-spoken, and gave me the space to simply do my thing. At the end, you picked up your guitar and played a song. I took a few photographs, then lowered my camera and just listened. I remember thinking how unbelievably lucky I was to be sitting there in that moment. Glen, we only knew each other briefly, but you brought me so much joy in that short time. In the middle of what I’m sure was an incredibly busy time, you opened your door to me with such generosity. It was an honor. I’ll never forget it. by @maxwanger
