We are food stylist @brilliantbake, food photographer @patricianiven & prop stylist @maxwhrobinson Next Saturday 27 June, we are offering a smart phone food photography workshop featuring PROPS, in London & also online via Substack. We explore how to take better photos using your smart phone camera & how to style with gorgeous props. If you work in food & would benefit from a more props-focused workshop to create great images to support your brand or clients, this workshop is for you. During the workshop, you’ll have time to get hands-on, taking photos with props, produce & flowers. Happy Friday, friends! 🌞 I’ve now delivered a bunch of smart phone food photography workshops with the wonderful food stylist @brilliantbake where we explore how to take better photos using your smart phone camera. On Saturday 27 June, we will be joined by amazing prop stylist @maxwhrobinson. Max works on cook books, with food & drink brands & you may have seen his work in Waitrose magazine. His previous experience in costume means he has a great eye for fabric, a penchant for car boots & loves to set a scene. During the workshop, you’ll have time to get hands-on with props & taking photos & you’ll be able to ask us any questions relating to prop styling, food styling or photography that you might have. Château de Fontainebleau In all its renaissance & baroque glory. Loved it. Never got round to posting then but here’s some from Napoleon I’s low-key cosy home, a day trip from Paris late last year & far less busy than Versailles too. On the hunt for tapestries! I made @alexinaanatole ‘s charred mackerel with rhubarb sauce and celeriac remoulade (on the guardian website) this week, it has become a staple, so good ! Wedding vibes, but silver. This one came together slowly. I was up half the night placing silver beads one by one, exactly one cm apart. I’ve been obsessed with metallic details for a while now, and this felt like the ultimate retro finish. I ended up doing the final touches on set, which always feels a bit unhinged, but the second we started shooting, I knew it was worth it. I love when a cake feels considered, sculptural, and celebratory all at once. Could you imagine this being your wedding cake?
