Exactly 10 weeks ago, we said “I do” 💍

Looking back on that incredible day, we’re filled with love and memories of an amazing celebration. Organizing our own wedding could be a challenge, but enjoyed every moment of it.

From crafting our wedding suits, designing the venue, and planning the entertainment to decorating and inviting our guests, it was a truly unique and personal experience.

Our theme, “Mystic Garden,” was inspired by the enchanting setting of Rijk van de Keizer, and it was incredible to see everyone embrace it, looking absolutely stunning.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible cast and crew—without you, we couldn’t have made it happen ❤️

A day in my life as a manager, but this one was extra special! ❤️✨

At the Diversity Festival in Amersfoort, two worlds that mean so much to me came together.

From watching @showduo_rik_aimee shine on stage to seeing them join my teammate @remicaris from @triplex.gymnastics for an important panel talk about diversity in sports and creating safe spaces. 🌈

As @showduo_rik_aimee manager and one of the founders of @triplex.gymnastics, being the connecting link between these two worlds made this moment even more special.

Seeing friends, passions and meaningful conversations come together reminded me why I love what I do. 🫶🏽

Two worlds, one shared message, and one proud manager! ✨ taken in Amersfoort by @maxxvanaarssen

A little life update ✨

Recovery has been going really well, and I’m happy to say I’m finally ready to get back to work! 💪

Over the past months, I’ve been focusing on my recovery while also contributing to several volunteer projects. It has been a valuable experience that has kept me connected, helped me grow, and reminded me how much I enjoy working with people and creating meaningful experiences.

Now I’m excited for my next adventure with a company where I can thrive in a dynamic, people-focused environment. I’m looking for opportunities in:
📍 Event Coordination
📍 Facilities Management
📍 Office & Workplace Experience
📍 Community Management
📍 Operations & Office Management

I love bringing people together, creating organized and welcoming environments, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

If you know of a great opportunity or if your company is looking for someone who is passionate, proactive, and hands-on I’d love to connect!

Here’s to new beginnings and exciting opportunities. 🚀 taken in Rosewood Abu Dhabi by @maxxvanaarssen

Canal Pride at @worldpride2026 🌈

Because of my injury, I had time to take on another volunteer project. I joined the boat committee for @gayswimamsterdam and @amsterdamwaterproof I had a blast working together with this amazing team ❤️

I was given a very special challenge: creating the group choreography for 130 swimmers. It was something I’d never done before, but I had so much fun learning, creating, and bringing it all together. Seeing the final result was absolutely amazing!

A huge thank you to @glamourgirldj for the incredible tunes, and to my girl @marloesnova, who I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with as we led the choreography again and again. ❤️

And finally, celebrating Canal Pride together with my wonderful husband @maartentimmertje on the boat. A day to celebrate, but also to protest.

Earlier this week, my mum texted me: “Do you think it’s safe to be on a boat?” My answer is simple: I’d rather risk standing up for my rights than stay home living in fear.

Love wins but we’re not stopping or going anywhere until everyone is free. 🌈❤️ by @maxxvanaarssen

@valenciagaygames2026 – Competition Recap 🧡🤸‍♂️🌈

Wow... what an unforgettable experience.

Being able to compete at the Gay Games is something I’ll never take for granted. Just four months ago, after rupturing my Achilles tendon, many people (including myself at times) wondered if competing would even be possible.

Thanks to months of hard work, dedication, an incredible physiotherapist, weekly rehab sessions, painful dry needling, and countless hours of exercises, I made it back onto the competition floor.

I competed on two apparatus:✨ Advanced Parallel Bars 🥇Intermediate Floor 🥉

Only a week before leaving for Valencia, I landed my first dismount in months. My floor routine had no tumbling passes just turns and non acrobatic elements to build difficulty but on competition day 2 at the event finals I surprised myself by adding my first back handspring in months. That moment meant everything.

Alongside competing, I had the incredible honor of co-organizing the gymnastics competition together with @triplex.gymnastics and @prideandsports . Bringing gymnastics to the Gay Games for the very first time wasn’t always easy. We faced language barriers, logistical challenges, and many unknowns, but seeing athletes from around the world come together made every challenge worthwhile.

I’m beyond proud of what we created. My hope is that this is only the beginning and that gymnastics will now become a permanent part of future Gay Games, starting in @perth2030gaygames , and future EuroGames in @eurogamescdf2027 and @eurogamesfrankfurt2028 .

A huge thank you to every gymnast who joined us. Together we created a safe, inclusive space where everyone could compete as their authentic selves and celebrate the sport we love.

This week reminded me that resilience, community, and believing in yourself can take you much further than you ever imagined. 🧡🌈 taken in Valencia, España by @maxxvanaarssen
