I was talking to a friend recently about Instagram and how perplexing the algorithm can be sometimes.

We’ve both noticed that the photos or reels we spend the most time on, thinking about the light, composition, colors, all the little details, trying to create something beautiful, often seem to get the least love. Meanwhile, something much more spontaneous can somehow travel much further.

It makes me wonder if this kind of content simply gets lost among all the trends, trending sounds, and AI-generated content we see now.

Is there still space here for beautiful, authentic photography and little everyday moments that don’t necessarily follow whatever happens to be popular that week?

And then I wonder whether the people who would actually enjoy this kind of content ever get a chance to see it.

All of this makes me even more grateful for every person who is here, who enjoys Maya’s photos, leaves a kind word or a little heart, or simply quietly follows along. 🤍
