hey friends!! i’m so excited to finally announce that I will be the Directing Fellow at the Metropolitan Opera beginning this August!if you would’ve told me a few years ago this would have happened I wouldn’t have believed you. this has been a journey of passion and grit and resilience and deep faith that is culminating in an opportunity of a lifetime! I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped me get here, who spoke life into me, and spoke to the Met on my behalf, and and for never letting me forget why I do this work. all glory to God for getting me in these rooms! 🙏🏽❤️✨stay tuned for this new chapter y’all!!!! by @mayahlourdes

two years ago (WOW!) I produced my first play about a sad time in my life. looking through footage for a presentation tomorrow, I knew this moment existed but I didn’t know it was documented!! She is developing a TV project with McG and the LA Times and writing the movie ARMADILLO BLUES with Antonio Banderas. She is the writer’s assistant to Jordan Weiss and has contributed to projects at Disney, MGM, and Paramount. Liv is also a performer and playwright with credits at SheLA and NYTF.MAYAH LOURDES BURKE (she/her) is a queer, Haitian-American director, choreographer, and producer born and raised in NYC, who creates space for the unseen, centering bodies often left in the margins. Off-Broadway: 24 Hour Plays: Nationals - Classic Stage Company (Director); Dakar 2000 - Manhattan Theatre Club (Assistant Director); The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window - BAM (Directing Observer); Get Out Alive - New World Stages (Directing Observer).
