this is mayari🌙🌟🖤 new headshots/photos by the lovely @aleynamonet_photo thank u for bringing out my often untapped masc side of myself!!!

most of u know me by a different name and this seemed like the right opportunity to share that i now go by mayari (my-yar-ree) - named after a deity in filipino mythology, mayari is known as the goddess of the moon + combat + equality + revolution. the spirit of mayari is what i hope to practice and carry through every space and person that welcomes me to be my most authentic self💜 by @mayari.roy

Thank you @theensemble and @pfptheatre for putting on a great community night! Everyone please watch Blood/Sucker before they close!!!

Also, many thanks to @pfptheatre for inviting me to perform amongst a wonderful lineup of Filipino talent🇵🇭🌟 Despite my nerves, I finally got to sing My Days from The Notebook, one of the hardest musical theatre songs I’ve ever learned but truly love after first listen🥹

Shoutout to Kuya @iamyourhomie for recording💜 by @mayari.roy

i would rather feel everything than nothing every time🤍 #alwaysyearning

as an older gen z person who is moving through mid 20’s adulthood, learning to be comfortable in my own solitude has been a fruitful experience. it’s wild to realize that i’ve been going to concerts solo since i was 21 and the first time i did that was out of state.

i know how real it is to feel lonely at times and want to share moments with other people, but at the end of the day, you are your bestest friend and can’t always wait on people to go to events that you really want to attend. i move with the mindset of “do it and see what happens”.

dressing up as lizzie mcguire, eating fishers scones and drinking an overpriced mason jar prickly pear margarita and jumping up and down to music from a human who is one of the y2k queens of disney is what life is about🩷💛 it’s an honor watching hilary grow up from my tv screen to now living life as adults together in this lifetime🌟🌟 forever our lizzie, cadet kelly, sam montgomery and beyond!!! by @mayari.roy

i took my first beginners burlesque dance class with @6degreesoflillianlove at @poproxdancestudio and she was so amazing and had such good energy welcoming all the newbies like myself who have never taken a burlesque class before.

taking a burlesque class has taught me that the art of reveal takes time and confidence to master because man taking off those gloves and unbuttoning a shirt while still making it look sexy is HARD!!

i have such a newfound appreciation for burlesque as an art form. it has unlocked a different side of me that gives myself permission to be sensual, to seduce myself and discover what that looks like, and being present in my sexual liberation through art🫶🏽✨🍒💋
