#2 signing out...

Dear Fillies,

Thank you for the best two seasons of my life. So many of my favourite high school memories happened in the pool, on deck, during bus rides, or just with the team--countless laughs, tears, and so much more. I am so greatly blessed to have met and gotten to play with each and every one of you. I'm gonna miss you guys more than you know 🫶 Come watch me play water polo in Navy and Gold next year ;)

Love,
Maya (your favourite goalie who blocks 300 shots)

P.S. - I read every single one of your "deepest darkest secrets" and now they're all wet because I couldn't stop bawling. I'm only one call (or letter for 3 months) away! 🩷 PLAY MORE POLO!!! by @mayaxkris

still me, still Navy, just with a cute shirt ☻ by @mayaxkris

I am so honored and beyond excited to accept my appointment and continue my academic, athletic, and military journey at the United States Naval Academy. (Sorry West Point! GO NAVY BEAT ARMY 🐐⚓️) Thank you to Congressman Krishnamoorthi and Senator Durbin for their congressional nominations.

Almost one year ago, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program, not even being able to do one singular pushup. Today, between receiving offers of appointment from both academies, being awarded the NROTC Marine Option scholarship, and even shipping out to MCRD as I had planned, this was a challenging decision to make but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Moreover, I am forever grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this all, especially my recruiter @sgt_ortego_usmc (and @ssgt.mendozaa.usmc , @ssgt_nounennady_usmc , and the others at RSS CV!), Mr. Bredemeier, my @katherinekelly__ and @teagantues , and perhaps most notably, my parents who cheer me on endlessly through the countless wild rides I take them on. Above all, thank God for making it all happen.

The little girl who grew up watching the Blue Angels fly over Seattle would be thrilled and SO proud to see where we are today 💙

See you in Annapolis ;) by @mayaxkris
