The base. The beginning to all of what we are, what we were, and hopefully, if we don’t destruct with our current rate, what we might be.

The stabilising element of which we find a point of reason, sometimes. It won’t turn on you, but will let you know it’s sad, mad.

It is from where I flourish and find sync. Sync in this weary life. It is where I find the answers and connect with my rawest self, my body.

During the Vietnam War, Viet Cong fighters reversed the soles of their sandals to leave footprints that pointed the wrong way, misleading those who followed. It was a quiet tactic, a dance with the earth, turning misdirection into survival.

I first saw that on a documentary when I was 10. I didn’t understand it I just stared, fascinated by how these people moved through the world with such intention. I didn’t know it then, but I carried that image with me.

Years later, it came back to me, not the war tactic, the intention.
I walk without announcing my direction, even to myself sometimes. I don’t rush to explain, or reveal too much. Not out of fear, but because something in me trusts the path. A path.. Quiet, steady, inward until one day, I arrive. by @maybeadham_
