i’m used to flyin’ solo, but i surround myself with all the love.

like going to joffre lake, again, almost exactly two years later with this guy.

wide set, heavy flow.

and the duo became a trio, and I got two dads.

liminal spaces feel like home.

and the additions life brings, brings a reminder of what - and who - we are living for.

the fog lifts, the dust clears, and suddenly…

we can see a little more clearly.

and we remember that we just have to keep going.

and sometimes, just need to stop and enjoy the beautiful mess we find ourselves in, called life. 💚

and still finding time to be goofy.

Dear younger Maycko, 👶🏽

You spent so much time wondering if you were on the "right" path.

You worried that every pivot meant you were starting over. That every new interest somehow erased the one before it. You thought you had to choose between business and creativity. Between strategy and storytelling. Between making an impact and making a living.

You didn't know it then, but none of those experiences were detours. They were preparing you for each other.

The hours you spent creating content weren't just teaching you how to write captions or edit photos. They were teaching you how people pay attention. The years you spent studying business weren't just about spreadsheets and accounting standards. They were teaching you how organizations work, why they exist, and the responsibility they have to the communities they serve.

💫One day, you'll realize those worlds were never separate.

You'll stop asking, "What should I post?" and start asking, "What story needs to be understood?"

You'll learn that communications isn't about filling calendars or chasing algorithms. It's about helping people see the purpose beneath the work. It's about connecting the vision, values, and impact of an organization to the people it's trying to serve.

And that realization will change everything.

So be patient with yourself.

Keep following the things that make you curious. Keep asking questions that don't always have obvious answers. Keep believing there's always a story underneath the numbers.
