Not too long afterwards someone I knew passed away from cancer. I knew they were struggling, but I didn’t know what they were struggling with. They knew it was terminal, but greeted everyday with a smile, they were one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and accepted me wholeheartedly for who I am. That loss made me shift my mindset immediately in space where I was falling into apathy it forced me to look towards sympathy and look outside of my own experience.

So much has happened that I could post a million things about over this past year. I’ve had to learn so many things the hard way. I had to get comfortable with major setbacks with minor comeback and learning to celebrate the little wins when I’m in the middle of all the chaos. I believed with hardship there’s always something that you can learn from and for the longest I didn’t know what that was. With everything I loss, I gained the opportunity to start new, and to let go of who I was so I can be who I am. These experiences have pushed in to hold more sympathy & compassion for people when I felt that I was losing it. Life can be lonely, life’s full of loss, but it can get better. I hope in all of life’s chaos, you’re able to celebrate the wins even if they’re small. by @mayhemmochi

Over this last year a tree had fallen through my home and destroyed everything I owned. You can replace a lot in life, but you can’t replace the thank you cards, the sentimental gifts that people make for you, and the things that remind you who you are as a person. It truly put me in a pinch, if you know me, you know I’m 10 steps ahead of whatever I put my mind too, but this was the first time that I couldn’t even find the staircase. After this I kept getting hit with hardship after hardship; I couldn’t help but think ā€œWhy are these things happening to me?ā€

ā€¼ļøTrigger Warning Deathā€¼ļø
The climax of it all was when I was traveling through Boston I witnessed someone get struck and killed by a Car. At first I thought it was an Animal, but as I got out of my car and I saw an animal further off it began to slowly click that it was a person who was hit along with an animal. I checked on the driver who struck the person, and they said ā€œdon’t worry about me go check on themā€. The closer I got I heard the Husband of a woman wailing in tears ā€œThey killed my wifeā€. It turns out the couple had hit an animal and were trying to move it out of the way, and a driver was driving way too fast struck her. Several folks had pulled over, none spoke fluent English including the husband and one person brought me the phone to direct Ambulance of where to go. They told me to conduct CPR, but the state that she was in I just knew wasn’t coming back. She was brought to the hospital where she was announced dead. I drove to a parking lot and sat in my car for days, processing everything I didn’t eat and I didn’t drink. by @mayhemmochi
