We proudly present our new song: My Everest. This track is the fifth and last chapter of Mayleaf’s Shadow Work EP. Stream it now on all your favourite platforms!

• Have you missed us? We’ve been quiet for a while, taking a much needed break and working on new songs. No worries, we’re not going anywhere and obviously couldn’t leave the year without sharing My Everest with you all. Each track on the Shadow Work EP covers the five stages of grief and My Everest revolves around step 5: acceptance. It’s about the realisation that every individual has their own cross to bear, their own mountains to climb, their own challenges to overcome. A song of hope, about how the darkest times can show you where the light is, no matter how faint and far away; about falling down time and time again and getting up again; about the determination to do the work and climb ‘My Everest’.

Quite fitting for these times, take care and keep an eye out for more of us next year. 🖤 by @mayleafband

Wij blij, zij blij, iedereen blij.

@mayleafband . First band of the evening. Not Metal.

The band told us before the show, that they've pulled out their cool guitars for this special evening. It wasn't just us nerds gushing over these shiny axes, don't lie. They had some of you drooling for sure.

Guitars aside, there's not enough good things that we can say about Mayleaf. They probably were the most well oiled machine over the evening. From being locked in as a band, to the intricate vocal harmonies and an energy that could have the whole room take a run for their money. Catchy hooks, big smiles and some wild unexpected grunts from vocalist Ilah. If you know anything about her, you couldn't expect anything less.

In case HEAVY wasn't full of first enough as is on this round, we are pretty sure that they had the loudest applause of all of the HEAVY shows so far.

What a ride. Am i the only one still singing their hooks? Let us know in the comments.

ACT 3: @mayleafband 90's Alternative/Grunge from Eindhoven.

As an exception, we proudly present the first, and probably only, non Metal/Core band. They can hang with the hardest.

This is blatantly obvious by their performances on events such as Jera On Air, The Rock Circus, Baroeg Open Air, Kabaal Am Gemaal and even demonstrated to the mainstream on 3voor12.

Loud, fuzzed out telecasters, brought with massive hooks and pop sensibillity. Think of a marriage between Weezer and Drug Church that had a child, just as stubborn as them.

We highly advice that you listen to their latest EP, Shadow Work, to hear for yourself. Even better would be if you brought a ticket and witness it IRL. You can find those in our bio. taken in De Partner Nieuwegein by @mayleafband

R: you ready to play support for @callitoffnl?
M: do you even have to ask
A: saywhatnow? siked!

CIO and Mayleaf go way back so supporting them at @dynamo_ehv on March 8 during their album release party is bound to be rad. See you there and preorder ‘Not Another Sad Album’ in the meantime! 🖤
