Sometimes people look at a Makeup Artist and just see someone doing makeup… 💄

But they don’t see the story behind it.

They don’t see the kid that grew up with a passion for makeup…
They don’t see the long days, the practice, the mistakes, the passion that turned into a craft.

Every day I stand behind this chair I realize something…

This isn’t just a job.
This is a blessing.

God gave me these hands, this vision, and the opportunity to change how people see themselves when they leave my chair.

I might be the one holding the brush…
But I truly believe God is guiding the hands. 🙏

And for that, I’m grateful every single day.

A vulnerable moment I caught and am able to look back at a moment of weakness and temptation. I'm sharing this because I'm only trying to be obedient and showing transparency in my life. A woman that has always love my privacy and have kept alot to myself because of how people love to judge and criticize others but in this season I'm letting God use me to reach others going through something similar as me and reminding you that you are not alone. by @maylinthemua

This was me June 27th, so much had been going on in my life. This very night the enemy tried to convince me to drink and get drunk to numb the pain I was feeling but I fought against his lies. Put on Christian music and felt me gain strength and a reminder of the promise I made God when he brought me from drinking everyday, smoking weed everyday and all the things I was doing he gave me that sense of peace I never got from none of those things. I cried so much that night because my heart was hurting. This season I've learned to let go! Let go of trying to do it all myself, let God carry me through. Love myself more, and stop digging up seeds I am planting, and let God florish it. I am a woman of God and I am worthy, loved, and never forsaken. I will never listen to the lies of the enemy, and the best way to make him flee is with the word and prayer. Follow me on my journey and see I'm alot like you, but God's promise is real. Yesterday July 20th was one of the best times I've had in a very long time. Being able to talk to a few ladies from the church and talking about our testimonies, situations we've gone through and how God has come through! I have always had faith but after last night my faith grew bigger after hearing all the women tell me how God pulled them through. At times when I feel like my whole world is falling apart I panic and become forgetful about how powerful my God is, and how he's never ever left me. That even if its hard right now he's by my side. When I cry he collects my tears and comforts me, holds me tight and shows me grace. Even if those I love, hate me and pull away from me I will always have God. Sounds crazy, I know but I refuse to fix things that's keep breaking, I refuse to bend myself backwards for people that don't appreciate me. If God removes you from my life, I will trust he'll replace you with something or someone better for me. I have my church sisters and I am no longer alone. I'll stay gathered and praying and trust what God do in my life. by @maylinthemua

Today was my niece's prom and I must say it was a very bitter sweet moment. I remember when she was born, holding her in my arms and today she's going to her senior prom graduating from high school. I had the honor to be part of some of her most special memories in her life and today was another one to the list. Had to capture this whole look from beginning to end. For sooooo long I always had long hair and for about a year I've wanted to chop it off short because the long hair reminds me of who I was and it would hurt so much. So I prayed and asked God to give me the will to do it and he did. Chopped it off a month ago, I cried when I saw how short it was but my husband and kids loved it so I embraced it. But still felt like I needed to change more so I went and dyed it and let me tell yall God is great at all he do and he was my stylist because this color came out sooo beautiful didn't have to use bleach. Come to God for everything and you will see how much better things happen with His blessing. I am forever in deep love for you my God! by @maylinthemua
