Day 8/30 Professional Audio Setup & Gain Staging

Viewers will tolerate average video quality, but bad audio will force them to click away instantly.

Capture broadcast-quality sound with proper gain staging:

Microphone Selection: Use directional shotgun mics overhead on boom arms for static interviews, and use lavalier mics for moving subjects.

Gain Staging Rules: Turn down your camera’s low-quality internal preamp (set internal mic volume near zero) and let your external mic or audio recorder do the heavy amplification work.

Target Levels: Keep dialogue peaking between -12dB and -6dB. Never let audio hit 0dB (clipping), as digital audio distortion cannot be fixed in post.

Pro Tip: Always record 30 seconds of quiet room tone before wrapping set to clean up background noise later.

SAVE this for later and follow to learn how to turn this passion into a career by day 30. @maylon.mp4 #trending #viral #cinematography #videography #explore by @maylon.mp4
