my cover of @54ultra song Heaven Knows.
i finished arranging, recording, and editing this in 2 days, and played all the instruments. i didn't use any quantization or autotune on anything as i'm learning to embrace imperfection. this is a deeply personal project to me and i'm so excited to share it!

i made the arrangement on flat.io. let me know if you want the sheet music!

it was 2am and i was walking to nowhere in particular on campus. i was in my feelings after getting hurt by my own decisions, as i always do. i remembered the student union was open and there's a piano in the back. i played whatever i wanted for about an hour.

i figured out how to play this on the spot and recorded it as soon as the idea came to mind. this is the raw, unedited first take. it's by no means perfect. it frustrates me that my mind knows where to go but my hands won't cooperate. i wanted to play a grand arrangement, something that's been in my brain for a long time. i just don't have the coordination yet.

all my life i've strived for perfection. a past version of myself would never post this; my collapsed wrists rushing and dragging my way through each messy chord. i understand where i want to improve, but i fear i don't give enough credit to the journey that brings me to the place where i want to be. that goes for all aspects of my life. i realized that the reason i kept getting hurt is because i keep looking for perfection.

i wanted to post this video because when i sang, it made me feel better. i don't want to be perfect. i just want to be myself.

while you're here, i want to make some things clear about chicago deep dish. first of all, it's not "chicago pizza", it's a tourist trap. second, if you HAVE to get a deep dish, get lou malnati's because they have the buttercrust. third, deep dish, in my opinion, is not pizza at all. it's a pie with pizza ingredients, which is very different than a pizza pie. new york makes pizza pies. deep dish is just pie. thank you. by @maymay0__5
