Richard from Vernon is the first to ride the new feature at the end of Lower Meat Sweats. We have been working on this for a long time. Took some time off with a broken leg but it’s finally rideable.
The idea being it slows riders down before they meet up with other trail users. The current exit speed is not that good if someone is walking on the connector trail. If you haven’t had your fun by this point your doing it wrong, go back and repeat the lap. by @mayorofcypress

Photo dump from the first 100 races. Some memorable plates, Mammoth 2015, Bootleg Canyon 2016, #60 at Silverstar at 60yo and NW Cup #181 (metric for 69).

My first race was 2012 Race the Ranch, my 100th race NW Cup Port Angeles. Pretty happy to reach 100 races. Big shoutout to @fullsend_adventures, @adriano_38 and @builtbydesignbc for getting my started at 50yo. Dave @bicyclehub for wrenching and keeping my bikes in race condition.
Had tons of fun along the way, met a bunch of old people who like racing as much as me. 3 times BC Cup Masters 55+ champ, 2 times Provincial champ, 2024 NW Cup 60+ cat 2 champ.
Let’s go for the next 100.
My first goal was 100 races now it’s racing Canadian National Championships as a 65yo.
Thanks to Donny, John, Mike,Mike and Pete for the good times.
Special thanks to @rippersloungeracing for the beers and good times.

First race of 2026 done. @nw_cup doing an amazing job as always.
Happy with a 3rd place after being off the DH bike for 9 months.

Final wildlife photo of the Christmas calendar. I was sitting on a bucket taking a break while filling in the landing on the first drop on Jersey, and there it was.
The world famous boner log. I had heard it was on Cypress but never seen it.
Hope you have enjoyed the wildlife shots. I’m sure I will find more in 2026.
I have over 4,000 hours of trail work, mainly on Cypress. Looking after the trails I ride is one of my pleasures. It’s nice to know things are in good shape before smashing out some laps. by @mayorofcypress

I found this guy while digging one day. Took him home and cleaned him up. If you spend enough time in the forest you can find the goods. by @mayorofcypress
