Hope.
The emotion.
The feeling.
The expectation.

It died the day Jonathan did.

Everything in me shattered and for a long time, I didn’t know if I’d ever feel anything but the ache of his absence.

Hope felt like a cruel word, a stranger I didn’t recognize anymore.

But healing…healing takes time.

Not quick. Not a straight path. Not tidy. Sometimes messy.

Over time, it carved out space in my soul not to replace what I lost, but to hold on to the sound of his laugh…his “Hi Mama”…his voice..,what still remains. And with it… came something unexpected. A new kind of hope. Not the naive kind, but the quiet, steady kind that comes from surviving what you thought would break you forever.

I found hope again when the sun rises and warms my face.
Hope when the moon falls and the world is still and it’s only me and the stars.
Hope when I dry my tears again and again and again and I choose to get up.
Hope in a bird’s song outside my window and sometimes as big as the falcon.
Hope in a memory that makes me smile before it makes me cry.
Hope in laughter I never thought I’d find again.
Hope in my youngest’s eyes.

On every May 10, I remember like I do every day my first love with every fiber of my being. I honor the life he lived and the love he gave. And somehow, I let myself believe again that beauty can rise from ashes, that joy and sorrow can coexist, and that love never, ever ever dies.

And HOPE in justice in October 2026

This hope? It’s different.
And like Justice for Jonathan and for Audrey, I cling to it.

Grief…it takes a lot from you. Not only the pieces that were all my child…but the parts of who I was with him.

It weaves its way through our lives, a constant companion after loss. Memories can make me laugh that roaring laugh you would do-all while turning into a trigger, reminding me of what was and what can never be again. But in those moments, I find a bittersweet beauty—a reminder that our love will forever be, and it mattered.

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It’s about learning to live with the empty spaces and finding peace amidst the pain. I forever carry you in my heart, your stories interwoven with mine. Every tear, every smile, is a step towards healing, a way to honor you and all your memories.

I know in time, the sharp edges of grief soften. I learn to cherish the moments we had and find strength in our ability to move forward and not be afraid to do so.

I know that it’s okay to feel deeply and to take my time. My healing…well it is personal and unique. I know I got to be be gentle with myself.
I miss you kid…today and always.
Love you son. To the heavens and back always.

I told my friend I was growing up.

Five years ago, the things that matter to me today weren’t even on my radar.

Five years ago, I was hurting. Life had blown up, and I was trying to find my way forward.

But somewhere along the way, I got brave enough to say yes to something new.

And that yes began changing more than I realized.

It changed how I looked at opportunities, how I thought about my future, and how I wanted to steward my time and the resources God entrusted to me.

I have a dream the Lord planted in my heart. That means making choices today that support the future I’m praying for.

So when it came time to decide what to do with Bella Beemer, I had a choice. I could replace her with an SUV, or I could invest in making her like new again.

I chose Bella. I also knew what I didn’t want: more debt and New York’s astronomical insurance premiums. I want my money working toward the dream God placed in my heart.

So here I go, to pay cash. Something I couldn’t do before on my own.

For the first time, I didn’t have to reach for a credit card to cover a big-ticket expense. I went to the bank, withdrew the money, and paid the mechanic.

And the tears filled my eyes. Not because of the money leaving my account, but because I realized what this moment represented.

Then I read something a sister in Christ posted:

“Satan attacks the one thing you focus on…”

And that hit me. Because my focus has changed. I’m thinking about my future, my family, my purpose, and how I can use what God gives me to pour into others.

And I understand that when you start moving differently, you have to be intentional about protecting that focus.
But today, I can look at one small moment and see just how far I’ve come.

Sometimes growth isn’t measured by what you buy or how much you make.
Sometimes it’s the freedom to make a different choice.

And sometimes, it’s simply having the courage to say yes to something new.

2026 has been a year of becoming.

Not the kind you can neatly package into a before and after story, but the kind that happens quietly, in the middle of ordinary days, unexpected heartbreak, new beginnings, and moments when God asks you to trust Him without showing you the whole picture.

This year, It’s a different
Kind of grief while continuing to build yet I’ve found ways to turn pain into purpose, watched The Dear Child Project move closer to completion, stepped into new opportunities to serve and protect families, and continued sharing pieces of my heart even when some days required more courage than others.

I am responsible for the steps God asks me to take, not for preparing every detail of what comes next.

I don’t have to figure out the next chapter before I finish living this one. I don’t have to force doors open, predict every turn, or carry the weight of tomorrow today.

But today, I’m grateful. Grateful to still be here. Grateful for the lessons that have shaped me, the people who still walk beside me, the work that gives my heart purpose, and the God who has never asked me to see the entire journey before taking the next step.

Dad is starting to sleep through the night. It only took a year, right? 😊. Only thing now is that Mama is tired. Very tired and achy. So Dad has paused the attention so it can be hers now.

Mornings are for soft tears and prayers, then the deep breaths and sighing before facing the day.

Maybe this, too, is part of becoming. Learning that even after a long road of giving, caring, and holding things together, there must be room for me to feel what I feel, to rest when I can, and to let God meet me in the quiet places.

I don’t know exactly what the next year will look like. And maybe I’m not supposed to. For now, I’ll take the better nights, the quiet prayers, the deep breaths, and the grace to begin again each morning.

One day at a time. One prayer at a time. Trusting God with the parts I cannot carry on my own.

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that remind you why you started in the first place. And last month, I had one of those moments that made me stop and appreciate what I’m building.

I work as a caregiver to my elderly parents…most days it’s more like 24/7. And on top of that, I run two businesses that I refuse to call side hustles.

Why? Because these aren’t just ways to make extra money. They’re part of a bigger vision, a vision for my future, my family, my freedom, and the life I am trying to build.

My wellness business allows me to share products and solutions that can support people’s wellness journeys. My legal business allows me to help families access legal services and identity protection they might not otherwise know were available to them.

Two businesses. Two different missions. One bigger why.

Last month, those businesses contributed to expenses that otherwise would have come out of my regular paycheck.

That’s what gets me excited.

It’s the dream of funding The Dear Child Project beyond the book it’s becoming.

It’s the possibility of building, creating, and growing in the background of life. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m not where I used to be, either. And I’m willing to keep showing up, even when my why has changed along the way.

So let me ask you something…

What if you didn’t have to keep relying on one paycheck to carry the weight of your entire life?

What if you could start building something alongside what you’re already doing?

I’m sharing my journey because someone out there may need to know that you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin.

You just have to be willing to start.

If you’re curious about either my wellness or legal, send me a message. I’ll share what I do and let you decide if either one makes sense for you.

Your why matters. Your future matters. And it’s never too late to start building something different.

To God all the glory.

I SEE YOU. 👀

I see you sharing how something is missing in your life. How you feel stuck, disappointed, and constantly chasing the next best thing without knowing exactly what’s wrong.

But wait… somebody always has something to say.

You want to change your health? They have an opinion. You want to start that new business? Suddenly, everybody’s an expert.

“You’re wasting your time.”
“That doesn’t work.”
“I heard…”

And just like that, you start questioning yourself until you do NOTHING because the gal at Dunkin’ Donuts said it doesn’t work. 😂

Let’s rewind to when making a change felt exciting. When you trusted yourself enough to take that first step.

Ask yourself one question: WHAT IS THE GOAL?

Better health? More energy? Financial freedom? Building a business? Creating a life that feels more like the one you’ve been dreaming about?

How long will you sit back and watch others do what YOU want to do?

I got sick of scrolling and watching others get the results I wanted. So I decided to get up and go after them myself.

You don’t need everyone’s approval. You need a goal, a willingness to learn, and the courage to begin. Surround yourself with people who encourage your growth instead of feeding your doubts.

Just like you say YES to him, her, they, and them…

SAY YES TO YOURSELF!

Say yes to more water.
Say yes to walking, running, or dancing like nobody’s watching.
Say yes to laughter.
Say yes to that new business.
Say yes to becoming the person you know you can be.

You don’t need the whole world to believe in you. Sometimes, you just need to believe in yourself long enough to begin.

And remember…

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10 (NIV)

Stop waiting for everyone else to approve the life you’re trying to build. Be intentional about your choices, faithful to your purpose, and courageous enough to take that first step.

You weren’t called to live for everybody’s approval.

Now tell me… what have you been wanting to do that someone else’s opinion has been holding you back from? by @mayrahearsyou

I love driving neighhoods looking for that perfect anything that will manifest every place you go that brings joy. I do it so much that when I moved back to NY almost six years ago…I got lost in my own neighborhood. (I can’t believe it’s almost six)

When I fell In love with the concept of doing that…I suddenly see so much good and awe everywhere swelling my soul even more.

Has that ever happened to you? Not the kind of looking something up and seeing an abundance of it on your feed because the cyber monkey is listening...but the kind of stuff you love and you see it EVERYWHERE! (I looked up catheter cover for Dad now my feed is about Incontinence 🙄)

The same works for our hearts. For our minds.

When you look for all that is good in your world. You see more of it. You start to see the proof of how God is working in your life. You see the results of His blessings. I think that’s why avoid reading anything political for times are disturbing. Not that I am naive it’s just times have drastically changing. (Store safe, prepared, protection and informed in your back pocket.

I don’t know about you...but it sure feels a whole lot better to see good surrounding you. What you focus on will manifest.

Focus on Joy. Focus on the fruits of the spirit.

Everything will begin to work out!

Choose wisely. 🤟🏽

Galatians 5:22–23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

We tend to forget...

Baby steps...that why we encourage the littles…even when they are about to fall…baby steps

You see, those little baby steps you do one day at a time become something permanent…a reflex…a lifestyle change.

Oh I had lots of baby steps to make. Yet when I began to move...
to make one change at a time...
when I didn’t quit because it was too much work...I saw that change. Even on those whiny days of “i don’t feel like it” Grief took a toll on me. It was a journey of self destruction and was hurting my loved ones along the way.

It didn’t happen in a day…week or even a month...there were no quick fixed. No magic potion.

Real food changes.
Learning to eat differently.
And lots of small “need to do”… and “do this over that” mentality. Lots of self-regulating and soothing of emotions with my safe people.

There is a reason why they tell you to put your oxygen mask on the plane for a reason. It’s not selfish to take care of YOU first.

Waking up earlier to self
develop…to squeeze in a walk
Parking further away
Taking the stairs instead of elevator
Replacing sugary drinks with more
water and lemon
Quit the every day wine for a mocktail
Skipped on snacking late at night
Saying good things to the body in the
 mirror.

It’s a choice. You can just start or the moment will come when you are forced to make a change by a person in a white coat.

Don’t ever be afraid to say yes to yourself.
Moving your body now will pay off squatting in your 80’s.

“Never neglect this glorious source of strength within you.”

1 Corinthians 3:16-17: “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”

It’s Saturday, and you’re about to start checking those boxes off.

But let me ask you something…

Are YOU on that list?

Is there time for yourself?
For a little self-care?

Maybe just a walk.
Maybe a book you’ve been wanting to read.
Maybe sneaking into the movie theater to see that movie everyone else thought was too corny to watch.

I know I can be the queen of focusing on the wrong things sometimes.

How about you?

Do you get excited about those friends coming over and the laughter you’ll share together—or do you worry more about the condition of your home?

Do you enjoy the moment—or are you thinking about that message you sent a friend that’s still sitting on “read”?

John 15 reminds us to remain in Him, and He in us.

But here we go again…

We’re worrying about the fruit the vine is supposed to bear.

More work.
Another thing to accomplish.
Another box to check.

Ahh… there you are, focusing on the wrong thing again.

Because bearing the fruit of the Spirit isn’t another assignment on your already-monstrous to-do list.

It’s what happens when you remain.

When you stop striving.
When you stop trying to control every little thing.
When you slow down enough to actually notice the joy right in front of you.

Because there you go again…

Already thinking, Ugh… Monday is coming.

And suddenly you’re focused on some invisible finish line—this endless list you have to complete—while forgetting the beautiful grace of right now.

So stop.

Just stop.

Be still at His feet.

Let Him love you right where you are.

Today, maybe we don’t need to be so busy doing.

Maybe we just need to be.

Be present.
Be grateful.
Be joyful.
Be still.

Be a Mary instead of a Martha.

Goodbye, September. Hello, October.

September brought a lot of change, some beautiful new beginnings, and some things I never expected.

I was emotionally ready to close a chapter. I had prayed, surrendered, and told God, “I’m ready.”

But God said, “Not yet.”

The trial was postponed.

And as hard as that was, I’m learning that God’s timing doesn’t always match my timeline. So I’ll keep trusting Him even when I can’t see what He’s doing.

I’m also incredibly grateful.

Thank you to those who continue to stay, to those who continue to trust me with your health journeys and allow me to walk alongside you. And thank you to the new partners, families, and community God has brought into my life as I continue to expand my purpose and find new ways to serve.

And Dad…well he continues to sleep more through the night. Hallelujah.

There is so much I’m carrying into October but I’m carrying it with faith.

More mamas to serve through the Dear Child Project.
More lives to impact.
More people to love.
More opportunities to serve.

And most of all more hope to outlast the storms.

September taught me more patience.

October, I’m ready to see what God is doing with it.

Goodbye, September.
Hello, October.
Your timing, Lord not mine.

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Psalm 27:14

KEEP PRAYING.

Keep praying, because God is going to show you how He is going to use YOU.

You asked for that door to open.
You asked Him to use you.
You prayed for purpose.
You prayed for favor.

And now that the door is opening, the assignment may not look anything like you imagined.

You may even find yourself overwhelmed by all that comes with the very thing you prayed for.

But don’t complain about what you once asked God to give you.

Because with favor comes responsibility.

With open doors comes an assignment.
With blessing comes stewardship.
With purpose comes obedience.

Sometimes the answer to your prayer comes wrapped in something that stretches you, challenges you, and requires more of you than you expected.

So keep praying.
Keep trusting.
Keep showing up.

God didn’t bring you to the door just to stand outside of it.

Jeremiah 29
