Excited to announce our newest exhibition with photography duo May Elroubi @maytados_ & Aadil Bhaiyat!

About the Artists:

May: I grew up in Khartoum, Sudan and my academic background is in psychology and mental health. I’m most inspired by and drawn to extremes; extreme sameness or extreme difference, total inconsistency and chaos or total order. If I’m lucky, I manage to capture what feels like both.

Recently I’ve been drawn to shadows and reflections of plants and ‘nature’ on manmade objects. Sometimes the presence of a shadow or reflection is intentional and enduring, sometimes it’s transient and inimitable. There are a lot of layers of why I’m drawn to this, most of which I’m still figuring out. I’d love to chat to people about it at the preview!

Aadil: I grew up in London and my background is in computer science. I’m inspired by things that make me stop and look. I am drawn to capture moments that remind that people who are strangers to me have a whole story behind this them. I’m a quiet person by nature and the busy city feels like a reflection of my inner self. Contrastingly, the documentation of the natural world are an appreciation of my external environment even when I share those with close friends. And I think nature is beautiful. by @maytados_

We are so excited to invite you to the preview night of our next exhibition, a tension. The artists invite you to join us for a show and tell in celebration of their first time showing their work!

We want to encourage you to bring any expression of their creative self to share with others (any medium including instruments). The show and tell will commence with both artists sharing a little bit about the photographs, and then we will open it up to anyone who wants to share.

– Date: Saturday 2nd May

– Time: 6pm – 8pm

– Location: artfix Greenwich

– Tickets: Free Admission

– Who it’s for: Everybody 🙂 specifically: families, aspiring artists <3 or people who don’t consider themselves artists
