It’s the best day of the year @bonappetitmag’s Best New Restaurants of 2026! Putting this list together is a huge feat - one that almost everyone on our team touches in some way. I’m incredibly humbled to be a part of it this year, and so fortunate to have the opportunity to scout, dine, and spend time getting to know the restaurants and the people behind them. The first issue I got to work on for Bon Appetit was for our summer issue and our feature story, Rodeo Reverie, is a celebration of Oklahoma’s Black Rodeo and Trail Ride. Photographed and pitched by @admdav , the photography was captured on tintype, as part of Adam’s larger photography project called Black Magic. We are honored to be a part of it. Beautifully edited by @joeybear85 and creatively helmed by @caronewt, @chuenneng, @meganistamcfly, and @elliottjeromebrownjr. Dynamic videos by @jordanamcnear and edited by @daphneyyy_ . Eating up LA before I leave 🥲

1 - The very light and airy battered skate at Wilde’s
2/3 - A Sqirl revival with dinner, specifically their sqimps (squid stuffed with shrimp chorizo) and beet agnolotti
4/5 - A truly delightful meal at Chainsaw cafe including their empanada de queso and a passion fruit icebox pie that I won’t stop thinking about
6 - Parisian style ricotta gnocchi toasted in butter at Betsy
7/8 - Perfect little radishes and a delightful cardamon bun at Lielle
9 - I didn’t photograph the refried lentils at broken Spanish and regret it. The tres leches cake was also a standout

Today in the test kitchen we’re cooking up…a new job and a move to New York! I’ve accepted the role of Executive Editor at @bonappetitmag, which means James, Lily, and I are heading east for the foreseeable future.

I vacillate between excitement and low grade panic, but either way, it’ll be a year of many firsts, unknowns, and hopefully better pizza (sorry LA).

To our friends and family here in LA, we hope to add to the stress by compressing a lifetime of hangs before we go. To friends old and new in New York, see you this spring. GUIDANCE OF ANY KIND WELCOME. taken in New York, New York by @maytojune
