30🌱Filled with Gratitude🫶
Meeting all of you is the greatest treasure of my life...

by @mayudance157

Dancing and performing with loving people.

I’ve kept at everything with a “just a try” attitude and kept going challenging my dance, and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work with wonderful, inspiring people.
Still not enough towards my goal, but I am sure, I am happy with my life.

Summer just started by @mayudance157

Work in progress on the 2026 new solo work “Trace of Luck”. @m.n1verse

"It reminded me loads of our attachments to our baby blankets or stuffed animals. Not necessarily grief of somebody else by holding onto pieces but holding on to things that are so clear and have a described existence in reference to our identity"

"I interpreted it as someone realizing that they did not much to be happy, and that they could be strong and resilient regardless. "

“Between Frequencies”explores the space between personal solitude and human connection choreographed by @mayudance157 .

“Between Frequencies I: Calling”
inspired by the 52 Hz whale, was performed by @carlponce_cubero and @iandebono at INVENTS 2026, presented by @obremski_works this past March.

“Between Frequencies II: Listening”
was inspired by Japanese wind chimes”Furin”. The creation process began this past February with @ryumihoryu and @iandebono , but was postponed due to Miho's medical treatment.
This version created based on this idea and performed by @iandebono and @mayudance157 for this fundraiser performance.

This work begins with the recognition that every person's experience is ultimately their own. No one can fully know another's pain, fear, or uncertainty. Yet even within that distance, we can choose to remain present.

“Between Frequencies II: Listening” is not about saying, "I understand."

It is about saying, “I may never fully understand, but I'm here with you."

You may be alone in your experience, but you do not have to face it entirely alone.

@mayudance157 new solo work "Trace of Luck".

This is #jchenproject Community Garden in the making. A shared space, a shared process.

We have held Open Studios for JCP dancers to come together every week to create, build, and explore their own voice. There are multiple pieces being choreographed at the same time, in one room, one community. There’s no pressure to produce a product. It’s a safe space to experiment.

On June 20, come see where they are. The audience is always the final cast member. Your presence and your responses are all a part of the creative process.

Inside Look: Community Garden is free and open to the public with RSVP (link in bio)
