It’s such an honour to join NCIS: Sydney — I still have to pinch myself that I got to play the badass / sneaky / boss woman Yumi Takahata in Season 3, Episode 7 Gold Digger.
I got to fight superstar @liviaswann in some kick-ass action scenes, punch the gorgeous and legendary @toddjlasance get interrogated by the ultimate NCIS cop buddies @tuuli.narkle and @officialseansagar and even decode a treasure map with @george.pullar 🤩
Honestly, Gold Digger felt like Indiana Jones meets Crocodile Dundee. ( @linc_lewis 🏴‍☠️) Epic!
Huge thanks to the entire production team and Grant Brown for being so kind and amazing. They made my very first US/AU TV shoot an absolute dream come true — complete with Yumi’s own trailer!

National Children’s Theatre Alliance Breakfast ☀️
Joined the panel as an independent artist, alongside some of the industry’s heroes.

As part of Wild Things, the first international children’s theatre festival at the Sydney Opera House, we came together to talk about the future of theatre for young audiences.

I wanted to share that making good work is only part of the journey. We also need to give that work a chance to live beyond its first production, with more support for touring, long-term relationships with venues, and opportunities for artists to keep growing.

Growing up in Japan, my mum subscribed our family to a local theatre membership, so we could enjoy live performances every month — from puppetry to musicals and classical music. Theatre became a familiar, joyful part of my childhood.

And to my fellow independent artists, producers, presenters and everyone who cares about theatre for young audiences: I’d love to connect. Let’s keep sharing our experiences, supporting each other.

One last thing: if you’re feeling a bit down, go and see some children’s theatre. Watching children giggle, gasp and react so honestly to what’s happening on stage is an absolute delight and pretty good for the soul.

Thanks @monkeybaatheatreco for having me. taken in Sydney, Australia by @mayusydney

We’re still buzzing from @accs_summit 2026! ✨

It was Omusubi Productions’ first time attending the Australian Children’s Content Summit—and what a dream!
We met so many inspiring people, connected with the legendary teams behind some of our favourite shows, and made wonderful new friends for Little Bozu & Kon Kon. 🦊🍃
Feeling incredibly grateful, inspired, and very excited about what’s ahead. 💚

Join us in celebrating our profound and long-lasting partnership with the OzAsia Festival, as we look back on more than a decade of championing Asian Australian stories in Kaurna Yerta and beyond! 🎉

Since 2013, CAAP has presented nine Asian Australian works at OzAsia Festival, including two world premieres, which were co-commissioned by Adelaide Festival Centre with other national partners.

The festival offered a unique opportunity for local Asian Australian artists and arts workers to come together and develop outstanding new Asian Australian works for Adelaide audiences that may not have existed without the expertise, support and spirit of the OzAsia Festival.

We also ran CAAP Artist Lab from 2021 –2023 with Adelaide Festival Centre and OzAsia Festival as our primary partner, bringing together 23 Asian Australian artists across disciplines to share practice and gain pathways into the arts.

We couldn’t be more proud of this history, and know we share the significance of this festival with locals, Asian-Australian audiences, and arts-lovers everywhere! by @mayusydney

Celebrating over 10 years of Dinosaur Park in Japan! 🦕
This year, the incredible artists at @erthaustralia brought a brand-new prehistoric creature to life: the mighty Mosasaurus!
The moment I heard the children giggling, screaming and roaring in the theatre, I knew exactly where I wanted to be. I love our brilliant Erth team, our wonderful Japan team, and this tour so much. 💚🦖🌊

I still have to pinch myself — RED DEMON has begun.

We had a two-day reading: first in Hideki Noda’s original Japanese, then in Roger Pulvers’ English translation, with an insanely talented group of artists.

As you can probably see from these photos, everyone was buried deep in Noda’s wild and brilliantly theatrical world. Red Demon is one of the plays that made me fall in love with theatre.

I believe Red Demon speaks so urgently to this moment — using a folktale-like story to reveal something very real, our fear of the outsider.

Huge thanks to @caaperformance for so generously hosting this first reading and discussion.

If you are interested in the next public reading, please follow @omusubi_productions.

“It is no exaggeration to say that the two-day workshop with Anthony felt like rewiring my brain and unlocking limits I had been putting on myself.
It was honestly the first time I didn’t feel I had to worry about my accent and could simply focus on something raw, truthful, and alive. As someone who has constantly doubted whether I could tell stories in English with the same depth and honesty, that was a huge shift for me.
Anthony is a master at creating a room where actors feel safe enough to be braver. He knows how to help you turn up the volume on the skills you already have, while also pushing you to take bigger risks.
I think actors are like athletes — even trained, working actors need to keep training. This workshop was such a great reminder to keep sharpening tools, deepening script analysis skills, and warming up emotional muscles. It challenged my habits, pushed me to dig deeper, and reminded me how much strength and play can exist inside intimidating stories and heavier emotional weight.
Anthony is incredibly generous, challenging, and energising — always with so much love and care. I feel very lucky to have had Anthony in my corner. Thank you, Anthony.”

20 years overseas, and I visited the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence in Canberra as a representative of the Japan Club of Sydney (JCS) Friendship Society.
Grateful for the connections I’ve found along the way.
Here’s to continuing to connect Japan and Australia through theatre, art, and storytelling.
Happy 50th Anniversary of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.🌸🦘🌊
