What would happen if urban plants gained consciousness? A Short Story of a Little Plant is an attempt to understand what might happen if plants that were meant to exist in their natural environment gained an almost human kind of consciousness.

Director(@mazana___ ): Sometimes, when I saw a lone plant surrounded by concrete and bricks, I wondered how surprised it would be if it realised the unnatural environment it was forced to live in. The tragic tone of the film is not accidental. Urban space and a mass-production approach often stand in opposition to plant-friendly practices, leading to early death.

The beginning (Act 1) and the ending (Act 5) are inspired by time-lapse videos of flowers blooming and withering. This lets us get to the main part faster (Acts 2, 3, and 4), but it is also a visualisation of accelerated nursery growing and dying processes. Act 2 emphasises the pure happiness of living, of existing, something that I believe belongs strictly to the world of nature and has been partly lost in the modern human world. Act 3 is probably the most interesting part. It shows the moment of realisation: what was supposed to be Little Plant’s natural environment turns out to be cold, silent, and soulless walls and streets. This is the moment I always found fascinating to imagine when looking at urban plants. Fear and disappointment are almost tangible, which is emphasised by the change in Little Plant’s dance style. Act 4 is the opposite of Act 2: what was an ode to life becomes a funeral march. This is also visible through the colours. Act 1 is kept in blue tones, which in the context of nature may be associated with water, and water with life-giving energy. However, each following scene shifts colour-wise towards yellow, which is not only the opposite of blue, but can also be associated with drought and the lack of water in general, and therefore with death. It’s especially visible in Act 4, where we can also notice the green, which is a key part of Little Plant’s identity, vanishing. This is the final stage of Little Plant’s death.

Nothing impossible for @amayistudio
For this music video my client’s (@cosimasuzanne) main request was the colour green… and honestly, I loved creating an entire vision basing on something so simple, yet so specific, as a single colour. My thoughts naturally drifted towards nature, which guided me to one of the most iconic places in the Uk - Seven Sisters
The song called ā€žAll Outā€ by Cosima Suzanne @cosimasuzanne is out everywhere šŸ’š
Production: @amayistudio (flawless drone operation by @beeinger)

PART 3 | Stronger zoom in, but it’s not only about getting closer. A longer focal length changes how the background feels: it makes distant elements appear bigger and more compressed, helping your subject stand out against a richer, more dramatic backdrop. This effect works especially well when the background naturally rises upward, like a street on a hill, because it can blur the line between the ground and the sky, creating the illusion of an almost endless surface behind your subject

PART 2 | More movement / motion blur = more dynamism, romantic feeling, a more lively photo and the chance to capture a truly unique pic (usually after many failed shots)
