isn’t it strange how you go from 6th grade year thinking you have a ton of games left to now being in your senior year and just getting done with you’re last ever game?

i have played basketball at pca for 7 years. it never was really my favorite sport in the world, but this year something about it just felt different. basketball has been a huge part of my life this year. i already miss playing it and at the time of writing this, we’re not even back home from oxford yet!

yes the sport will be missed, but not as much as i’ll miss my best friends and seniors as my basketball teammates. i love everyone so much and im so glad i got to spend my senior year playing with the best team ever.

cheyanne, even through all you blonde moment and short tempers, you always make me feel appreciated and loved especially on the court. if im down or in a bad mood you notice and pick me up immediately. im going to miss all the memories we have made this season and the seasons before (also im so glad you decided to come back to pca hehe)

oh charli, nothing beats the picture we took after winning jv state championship 6th grade year, (last slide btw hehe). as we sat down on the bench together for the last time today, all i could see was our 6th grade selfs staring at each other. you’ll always be little chuck to me no matter how old we get. i miss playing already and wish we could have a few more games together. i wouldn’t trade you as my teammate for the world.

well i guess this is it. seasons over, forever this time. i couldn’t have had better coaches my pineview career (thank you tiff and joey)! and i’ll always have a favorite teammate, my best friend and sister, emma. (i got my free throw routine from you to carry on your legacy LOL)

anyway thank you basketball for all the good and bad memories you gave me, through ALL the injuries and more, you’ll always have a special place in my heart.

a bittersweet end to my sports run at pineview. i’ve enjoyed the past 7 years playing with my school and my teammates. softball was never the sport i loved most, but i’ll always be grateful i decided to play. thank you to steph and joey for always believing in me and making me love the sport.

volleyball.

the sport i grew up with, and the sport im sad to leave. falling short at state was not what i had in mind. but that’s how life goes, and life keeps moving. no matter what was going to be the outcome last night, i knew i had the best time of my life getting there. this truly has been the best season of my 7 years in sports. thank you to everyone for being the biggest supporters ever. thank you seniors for giving me a great last year with pineviews volleyball program. without you guys i couldn’t be the person i am when im on the court. to my coach, i couldn’t have made it here without you. from not even having a playoff game last year, to making the final four and making pineview history. you’ve changed the way i see my love for sports this year, so thank you for being there for me in and out of sports.

my kneepads may never touch that court floor ever again, but the memories will be there for a lifetime.
