💛La Cage Aux Folles has to be the most challenging show I have had the pleasure of do. So thankful to the @thecarnegie for bringing me in on this production.

This process pushed me physically, challenged some internalized homophobia, and challenged me artistically. But pressure does make diamonds. ✨💎
This process has shaped and helped redefine; what beauty means to me, what joy looks like, and what it means to accept yourself for who you are.

I’m so grateful I was able to share this experience with my beautiful friend @thejoshwalden who is a flawlessly leading us in this process. (As both our lead performer and choreographer! )And my beautiful new sisters @_connoraustin @itszaytuck @_waywayyy_ @benjigodleyfisher @zoosgotmoves 😘I couldn’t imagine sharing space with better humans for this experience.

A shoe can be a passport. A pumpkin can be a coffee. Theatre in its truest form.

WSU’s School of Performing Arts Production of Time Stands Still had to cancel their performance minutes before Go. I mean Audience members were in seats, Actors were in costume, Crew was on Standby, the show was ready…..Mother Nature decided to show off tonight. 🫠 A serve Tornado warning caused us all to leave the theatre and take shelter.

However, it didn’t stop a beautiful moment from happening. After the tears were shed ,we banded together in this basement and said “The Show Must Go On” ( even if a tiny abridge version) We found Christmas ornaments, boxes, dentist chairs, a table, pumpkins and recreated our set. Even the audience supported with the donation of shoes to help create the illusion of a stage.

The tenacity the students showed tonight is a testament that live art will survive even the driest of droughts. Shockers really showed out tonight!
