What’s your body count this year? If you can name the band you can see where each wristband is from. #Festival #festivals #bodycount #thestrokes by @mballz

Not procrastinating, just a perfectionist. Last year was a year i tested my limit. Visited more places than i ever thought i could and spent most of the year traveling. Some for fun but most for work. Got to watch my favorite person grow another year old made some new friends and learned a lot in. Went on tours and one with a legend most of us grew up watching. 2026 is here and i am ready to do it all again. Hope 2026 is a good for all of you out there. by @mballz

The main reason for this trip was not only to spend time with my dad but to catch up with aunts, uncles, cousins, friends we haven’t seen in a long time. Family is where home is and sometimes you have to travel to another country to keep that. #peru #family taken in Peru by @mballz

There are two side to most South American cultures. Peru is no different. You have the indigenous and you have what came after. And what came after is only beautiful cuz the people embraced it and made it their own. But its not all glory, there is guts and i went out every night and caught a bit of everything. There are locals there demonstrating for their right for their fair share. These are both things i have never witnessed in the many times o have visited peru and am thankful to have been there for them both. taken in Cusco Perú by @mballz

Ollantaytambo, Saqsaywaman, Moray were all once areas of significant importance to the Inca people. Ollantaytambo Was an Incan fortress with large stone terraces you can climb. At the top is a sun temple and across on another mountain is what can be describe as their food storage or refrigerator. This was also the site of a battle with the Spaniards where the Incas won. Saqsaywaman was the site of another battle between the Spaniards and Incas. The name is not actually the real name of the area. Saqsaywaman actually means place where the hawk is satisfied and when the Spaniards asked the locals where the battle site that is how they described it because birds were feasting on the bodies of the dead left over from the battle. Moray was an area where the incas experimented and grew various crops at various altitudes and micro climates. Three large circular terraces can be explored in the immediate area. The salt mine of maras is a salt mine fed by an underground hyper-saline spring that was mined by the incas and still is by the locals to this day. The salt mine was formed 100 million years ago when the Andean Mountains were being formed by ocean water. #peru #ollantaytambo #saqsaywaman #moray #salinerasdemaras taken in Cusco - Capital del Imperio Inca by @mballz

Our original plan had us going to Machu Picchu but long gone are the days you can walk up, get a ticket and spend as long as you want. Cusco being the Inca capitol has ruins all over so we spent 3 days visiting as many as we could instead. Chinchero, Pisaq and Tambomachay are in this post. Chinchero is known as the granary of Peru. Pisaq located in the sacred valley, has agricultural terraces, watch towers and a grave yard. Tambomachay known as “the bath of the Inca” consists of aqueducts, canals filled by natural springs that still flow to this day. #peru #chinchero #pisaq #tambomachay taken in Cusco - Capital del Imperio Inca by @mballz

Imagine that mound of dirt down the street that all the kids use as a dirt bike track was actually more than that. Discovered accidentally, they began excavating it in 1981 and are still working on it to this day. Located in the city of Lima you can see the neighborhoods and building surrounding it. That would be the equivalent to having an pre-Columbian adobe temple in the middle of your city. Unfortunately my phone ran out of juice half way through the tour so i didnt get all the pics i wanted. #peru #lima #huacapucllana taken in Rest. Huaca Pucllana - Miraflores Lima by @mballz

Fresh, everything. You cant get fresher food from your backyard. Imagine your supermarket was actually a farmers market, everyday! There is saying, nothing goes to waste when it comes to food in Peru. Veggies, fruits, nuts, grains, livestock, bread, cheese, candies, you name it, its there and if not they can get it. We had fresh fruit smoothies almost everyday. Peru is in a unique place on our world, the ocean, the mountain, the valleys, the jungle all are perfect for raising, growing, cultivating and the result is some of the freshest, cleanest ingredients you could ever ask for. #Peru #Perufood by @mballz

There is no question Peru is known for having amazing food. Light breakfast, to get the day started and lunch or dinner to the max. Restaurants, hole in the walls, street food fast food and home cooled meals all a step up from what we have here. Main mode of transportation is walking so working up an appetite is never a problem. Yes that is KFC and yes i had to try it and yes it is way better than what we have out here. I always make it a point to try our food in other countries to see the difference. We are definitely getting the shaft out here. #peru #peruvianfood taken in Peru by @mballz
