It was a scary saga ….With a happy ending! We made the mistake of assuming that we could replace the glass shower door and walls (swipe left) of our gold framed shower while keeping the plastic base and surround. So we put in our new floor, only to find out that these shower kits are sold together and have specific measurements! We had tried a 38 inch door set but because our shower wall wasn’t flat against the actual wall, but actually stuck out an inch, it shifted everything, making the door hit past where the base was. Since they didn’t sell 37 inch door frames I had to go with a 36 inch frame and move it in a bit. It worked! I will have to put a trim piece in to cover the holes from the previous frame but we have new shower walls/doors AND didn’t have to redo our new floor! Last Friday I took a road trip to Traverse City to visit @hohantiques - a place I hoped to visit for quite some time after reading their story! It was not hard to fall in love with everything I saw…history and character abound everywhere! I left this beauty last week while thrifting with my daughter and had been thinking about it ever since. Most thrift stores have punch cards and rewards systems…so coupled with the prices I hardly ever buy new these days! Yesterday my daughter invited me out so it was a win just spending time with her! She found me a Lake Ann sweatshirt just in time for my Women’s Retreat there this Friday, which got me browsing through their fall clothes…I was happy to get all this for $41 but then they had a promotion to pick a leaf with a discount on the back. I was impressed with my daughter’s pick of 25% until I chose and got 60% off! They also let me use my filled punchcard for another $5 off- so in the end I only paid $11 for everything! Tried so hard not to catch myself in the mirror🤦‍♀️ It’s FINISHED! My half bath makeover is finally done - our friend replumbed so we could repurpose this secondhand vanity and get our plumbing up to code! My new faucet off FB Marketplace is perfect and now everything flows (in more ways than one!) We hit a stopping point in the plumbing since we have an S-trap that needs to be converted to a P-trap which means also modifying the vanity🤪Time to call our plumber friend!
