Dear Mama,

There are no words that feel right today. Is this even the venue to share? That I am not sure—but, YOU, my mama, were the light for so many. I cannot imagine this next phase of life without you. It’s the littlest things really—the pig snorts, the mama hugs, our art projects, our made up goofy songs, your silly faces to Lindsay, the joy you had when you saw your “binnie”. I just cannot imagine my everyday without these.

You have taught us all about true unconditional love. For my entire life I have always known I am loved and accepted no matter what. You have taught your grandchildren to enjoy the little things, be creative, embrace being unique, and most importantly love everyone and love hard.

I promise you, mama, we will be here for dad. You were his absolute love, but maybe more importantly his best friend…as you said “your buddy”. We can never fill that void, but we will make sure he is ok.

I love you mama. I promise to always make you proud. I hope I have just a little bit of you to share with the world. 🐽🐽

Apologies for a long post! It’s a big week in the Merritt household. Our queen, Marna, will turn 75 on Sunday. April is also Parkinson’s Awareness month. As many of you know Marna bravely battles Parkinson’s. My family will tell you Parkinson’s is STUPID and NASTY. Marna keeps moving.
This Wednesday the @oceancity_softball will host our 2nd Annual Play for Parkinson’s game at 4pm at the Ocean City Varsity Softball Field. (There will be a short ceremony at 3:30.) We would love to have a large fan base to support the OCHS 🥎 team, help speed up a cure for Parkinson’s, and even give our Queen a 75th Birthday hug. It is with excitement to (finally) announce that our very own Brooke Douglas has been selected by the South Jersey Girls Softball Association as Co- Player of the Year. This is a huge individual accomplishment and an extremely special moment for our program. Congrats @brookedouglas_88 — this is beyond well deserved.
