CELESTIAL BED

A contemporary reimagining of Dr James Graham’s 18th century fertility machine, Celestial Bed is a synthetic intermediary to human pollination.

I am forever thankful to my collaborators @agf_hydra & @georgmat

There is nothing speculative about this piece.

To me, this work means everything. taken in Hobart, Tasmania by @mcandy_

An insane amount of research, development and prototyping went into the robotic elements for the @max_hooper_schneider automated aquarium installation.

8 robotic fish, 2 Nautilus and an 8 channel pneumatic barnacle + sea cucumber system.

I kinda wish flappy fish made the cut. by @mcandy_

🥂 Opening Reception: August 29 at 2:00 PM
🗓️ Exhibition Dates: August 29 – November 1, 2026 (Saturdays and Sundays)
🕕 Exhibition Hours: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Saturdays and Sundays)
📍 Location: Governors Island, Nolan Park, Harvestworks Building 10a

“In Other Forms” brings together works exploring transformation across bodies, technologies, environments, and systems of intelligence. Through autonomous machines, computational life, electromagnetic fields, sound, light, and speculative biology, the exhibition considers form not as fixed, but as something continually shaped through movement, time, and interaction.

The exhibition reflects our current moment in time, when life, intelligence, nature, and technology are increasingly taking shape in new and unfamiliar forms.
