Rolly Crump died yesterday at the age of 93, at his home in Carlsbad, CA. I don’t have to tell you his life story or how special he was to so many people or how he is one of the most iconic artists that lived in the 20th century. You already know this I’m sure. But what I can tell you is that the saying “don’t meet your heroes” doesn’t apply to everyone. The day Rolly and his Wife Marie invited me to their home in 2019 was a day I’ll always remember. He was the one of kindest and most intelligent humans I’ve ever met. I was insanely worried to meet Him. He is #1 of 4 of my influences in art. I’ve admired his work most of my life as soon as I learned who he was when I was young. In this photo we are saying cheers with a shot of Jack Daniels followed by a bite of apple pie in our other hand. An old tradition Rolly Crump did with other imagineers for Disney back in the 50’s/60’s. It was an honor sharing that moment with this great artist, this great man, this great inspiration to so many. @missmaelaroux indulged my late night call. I called her at about 9pm last night and asked if she’d be up for a NOLA story? She ended up tattooing my Crawdaddy dude I made for @annamcbiff and I wedding invite on the both of us. And guess who also came to get McBranded?! A New Orleans native himself, The Legendary Dr. Sick @fiddlekiller from the @snzippers. Mae stayed up ALL NIGHT!! We had just enough time in the morning to watch the sun come up over the River and get Cafe Du Monde.thank you again so much Mae. I love you. by @mcbiffart

We just checked into our last couple of nights in New Orleans at the Ritz-Carlton. I still don’t know how to thank everyone for showing us so much love this past week. It’s still an unbelievable blur of sweet bliss, marrying @annamcbiff (yep, she changed her handle). I still have no photos of Saturday, but @thehulagirls was gracious enough to step away from his insane schedule and mega-star meetings to join us, get married, and photograph the whole thing. Once I get those photos when he gets some time, I’ll be posting them and showing off this wild ride of a weekend. I love you all. Thank you again by @mcbiffart

This kid…holy crap. He was the toast of the town last night…I’ll post something on the wedding soon but wow. What a night last night!! This girls gonna be my wife?! @annasyntek is out in Palm Springs this weekend having herself a bridal shower getting pin up “up’d”. dressed up and hair done up by @mrs_lindysue & @maelaroux.
