My recent trip to Uganda left an imprint on my soul. From the joy of spending time with the children and teachers to the rhythm of village life, I witnessed a hope and resilience that is truly inspiring. 💗

It’s why I’ve set up the Uganda Empowerment Fund through my business.

For me, this is personal. Having experienced my own journey of growth and healing, I know the transformative power of education, guidance, and the belief in someone’s potential. 🌿

This fund will give children and communities in Uganda opportunities every child deserves: education, support, and empowerment. 💫

I’m back home…for now! Yet, part of my heart remains in Uganda 🇺🇬❤️

This journey was filled with laughter, learning and moments that have left a huge imprint on my soul…from sharing smiles and love with children to witnessing dedication and resilience of teachers and local communities…I’ve been reminded of what is important to me; kindness, connection, hope and love 💫

I carry with me friendships, memories and lessons that will stay with me forever. And even though I am home, my support and love for this country, and its people, will continue.

Uganda has left its mark on me in ways that I am still searching for the words to describe! 🫶

✨ Meet little Leanne! 🥰✨

During my time in Uganda I’ve received so many thoughtful gifts. Delicious fruits and nuts, hats, a bracelet, sugar cane, even a rooster! Each one has been special.

And on Tuesday, I received the most precious gift of all.

My driver Joseph had a tough few days while his wife was unwell in hospital during her pregnancy. On Monday, their baby girl was born safely and mum is doing well 🙏

The next morning, on the way to school, he told me that he had named her after me because I had shown him so much love! 🥹 I nearly fell off the bike 🏍️ as tears filled my eyes…I was blown away by his beautiful gesture 💝

And as we rode on…chatting and giggling he went on to say…and I pray she has a laugh like yours!! 🤭 I asked if he would send me a picture and I received it this morning 😍

A moment that will stay with me forever…a simple bike ride, a heartfelt gift, and a realisation that love and kindness can ripple further than I even imagined 🥰💫 by @mccaffertyleanne

What a gift this journey continues to be…💫

At Wisdom, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my knowledge with the children and teachers and also learning so much from them in return.

From building self-confidence in children and developing leadership skills in prefects…sharing coaching strategies that are empowering teachers and children alike…to the practical joys of learning to use a projector and laptop in class…milking a cow 🐄, learning Luganda, playing the mathematical game of Omweso …and so much more! 🤓 Every moment has been an opportunity to grow together 🙏

For me, what truly matters is that beyond the skills…we have shared love, connection, and the reminder that everyone has something to teach us. If you ask me, our talents and gifts are exactly that, treasures meant to be shared generously with others 🤩

And although my time here in Uganda is coming to an end, my support and connection to this incredible community will continue long into the future….✨🥰 by @mccaffertyleanne

When love, laughter and learning come together… magic happens 💫

What a day to remember at Wisdom Junior School 🫶

We celebrated the children’s talents, the teachers incredible skills, and the beauty of community 🤩🥰

From braiding my hair…to gifting me art…carpentry skill development…and filling every heart (and belly) with joy…my soul is overflowing with gratitude 💝

We laughed, learned, and danced the night away…a wonderful day of love, connection, and pure magic ✨

I was offered a local delicacy here in Uganda…and initially, my heart was racing, my palms sweating, and my mind overthinking every bite 🥵

But a conversation with friends and a shift in perspective reminded me that courage often begins with the way we choose to see the moment 🌍✨

Wisdom Junior Schools garden is staring to take shape 🫶

The children have been busy planting lettuce, spinach and tomatoes 🥬 🍅 🤩

Gently covering them with banana leaves to protect them from the sun 🌞

And watching them reminds me that a seed planted today, and nurtured, is creating growth for the future…both in the garden and in life 🌱✨

Step by Step, We Are Building a Brighter Future! ✨

Our children are full of energy and excitement as they help carry new classroom doors. Each door and window we install brings us closer to a safer and more comfortable learning environment. 🏫❤️

Yesterday I had the joy of visiting another wonderful school here in Uganda, after receiving a kind invitation from the Director David, a few weeks ago.

From the moment I arrived at Lenity Junior School I was met with a sea of smiles. 😁🫶

Children singing, dancing, playing games, and filling the air with joy. The stories shared, both from the teachers and the pupils, were deeply moving and uplifting. 🙌

I learnt of how this school opens its doors to children who can’t afford fees and offers a safe home to those who are orphaned with nowhere else to go. Even with limited resources, they give all they can. Trusting that they’ll always find a way and holding fast to the belief that there’s a higher plan at work. 🤩

One simple ‘yes’ led to a day of connection, laughter, and unforgettable moments. ❤️
