The brochure for the McConnell Arts Center's 2026-2027 season is being mailed out and we will soon have a supply of them on hand at the MAC! On Stage, our popular Bluegrass Series is returning, along with perennial favorite Mad, Mad Men plus gospel, poetry, jazz, a live Hitchcock radio play, and so much more. In addition, we are pleased to offer a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience—joining extraordinary live performances with Tom Miller’s remarkable collection of vintage concert posters in a way that is truly “never before, never again,” with Rockin’ Art At The MAC.

Watch for the brochure in the mail, or stop by the MAC table on the Southeast corner of the Village Green and pick one up during the Worthington Arts Festival June 20 - 21, 2026. In the meantime, you can browse our performances on our calendar page, and buy your tickets before they sell out! The MAC icon in the corner of the listing denotes a MAC-presented program.

Tickets are still available for tomorrow's performance, Vanilla Fudge with Special Guest Angela Perley!

Vanilla Fudge was one of the first American groups to infuse psychedelia into a heavy rock sound to create “psychedelic symphonic rock," an eclectic genre which would, among its many offshoots, eventually morph into heavy metal. Although, at first, the band did not record original material, they were best known for their dramatic heavy, slowed-down arrangements of contemporary pop songs which they developed into works of epic proportion.

Angela Perley makes music for roadtrips across the American heartland. Rooted in cosmic alt-country, roadhouse rock & roll, witchy-woman psychedelia, and amplified Americana, it's a vintage sound for the modern world, glued together by a singer/songwriter who's played everything from dive bars to arenas.

Today from 1pm to 3pm: Sarah Iles Johnston - Ancient Greek Myths About Death and How to Make the Best of It (LLI Week 4)

There are a lot of Greek myths about death! Sarah Iles Johnston will tell us all about them, starting with why the Greeks told myths and how the myths offered insights into difficult topics, including death. She will look closely at three myths about death that focus on female figures: Persephone, the queen of the dead; Erigone, a woman who died before she had a chance to marry; and Iphigenia a woman who, according to one version of her myth, never died at all. She'll be asking how these myths expressed—and to some degree challenged—social expectations for women. Each of these women "dies" insofar as she leaves the normal world, but as their myths show, each manages to gain something important as well. Audience discussion and questions and answers are welcome.
