Band Concert with the Mesa Community College Concert & Community Bands & Arizona State University Wind Ensemble

Welcome to the Team! Glen Sears

Glen is excited to be joining the Performing Arts Facilities team on August 17th as the new Technical Director in the Performing Arts Center.

He has spent the last 7 years at SCC as the Technical Director of the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre and the PAC. He moved to Arizona from the east coast in 2015 to work at Arizona Broadway Theatre as their Technical Director. Glen worked in Philadelphia, PA at the Walnut Street Theatre as the Properties Master for 13 years and then 2 years as Technical Director. Walnut Street Theatre is the oldest playhouse in continuous use in the english-speaking world and one of the last few "hemp houses" still in use today. Glen was also a member of IATSE local 8 where he worked many concerts and live events in Philadelphia. Growing up in the Boston area he has worked for such companies as Huntington Theatre Company, Boston Ballet, Boston Symphony, American Repertory Theatre, and more. He also built the props for Disney cruise lines first 2 ships the Magic and the Wonder with Mystic Scenic. Glen has also competed in robot battle shows like Battlebots and Robot Wars. In his spare time he likes to work on vintage vehicles and spend time with his family. by @mccperformingarts

Auditions

Please come prepared with one 60 second monologue.

If you do not have a prepared monologue please come at

7:30pm on your callback day and you will be seen.

Callbacks

Be prepared to read from provided sides for your preferred callback.

You may be called back for multiple shows if you indicated an interest in both.

If you were unable to attend the auditions on Wednesday please arrive before 6pm on Thursday and we will get you a time to be seen that day.

PLEASE NOTE - If you are cast you must sign up for the appropriate section of THP 201AA.

Casting Priorities: In casting, the Theatre & Film Arts Department of MCC prioritizes matriculating students first and foremost. Each semester we do cast a limited number of community members, but community members should be advised that the department will prioritize casting of students first. If cast, community members would also need to enroll in

�MCC's production class -- THP201AA.

DEFP has a terrific concert planned for this Friday, July 24 at 7:30 pm. The original DEFproject is celebrating their 20th anniversary and will be performing their National Flute Association Pre-Gala program and the DEF Community Flute Choir (10th year) will be playing works commemorating the Mayflower and the founding of Jamestown.
