NOTICE
✅In September I donated some of my time to work with wild horses at a rescue sanctuary in the United States. Gentling these beautiful, untamed hearts so they understand that good men will not hurt them, if living among us is their final destiny. That we can have a mutually beneficial relationship based in trust if they give us a chance. And you know what, they do.
It seems many rescue facilities are needing help. Especially those that have not been in operation long or certainly if just starting up. It takes a team. My part is to help get horses adoptable over the time I can allocate. I’ve had people tell me that I’m answering God’s calling. They may be right. Every one of us involved at every step of the way is part of a community. I think of us as one family. Living with nature.
✅I’ve also recently had a gentleman from eastern Canada reach out to me about teaching my horsemanship techniques. It’s something I’ve never really considered before. But if the interest is there, I may look at putting together a clinic next spring and/or doing one-on-one lessons.
So if you’re a rescue, or an individual wanting to learn gentling and natural horsemanship training, please send me a message on here and we can arrange to talk. Thank you.

Beautiful rez mare Goldie that I worked with in the summer. The family that adopted her are so nice. Sends me updates on how she’s doing. Caring, patient and very much in love with her (who couldn’t help but be 💛)
They’re all doing terrific!

@hiddenjoyphoto ‘s beautiful little mare Minnow arrived at the ranch this evening. Her and Apollo hit it off immediately. I like to keep a new horse separated for the first little while, let them do nose to nose over the fence, and gauge when they’re ready to be put together.
Ever since Apollo arrived I’ve been feeding him at the long feeder trough in the enclosure. But he would not leave her, even when she was eating ten feet away…so I moved a portable feeder out there for him.
Who am I to come between a happy couple!!

Meanwhile, Mags was just content to watch the sunset. Saskatchewan. We’re not called ‘Land of Living Skies’ for nothing.

Well, that’s a wrap.
Today I head back home to Canada. This has been a great experience. @trey_2288 and I worked together like a well-oiled machine. All cylinders firing. I feel a kinship with him through our relationship with horses. A brother from another mother. I am very proud of the work we put in. And there’s some very good, sound horses moving forward in their lives.
Then there’s the people here in Arkansas. Some of the nicest, most amiable people I’ve ever met. Salt of the earth. I’ve fallen in love with this place and those who call it home.
@dawnolivieri This woman amazes me. She balances so many things at once. I mean so many. She’s become such a powerful voice in her passion for saving wild horses. A calling that carries with it a ton of hard work. Which she meets head on. She has all my respect. I wonder sometimes where she gets all that energy from. But then I look around me. This place of hers is magical. It feeds her soul. And when you’ve created such a rare, special place you grow and protect it with all you have. I get that.

I’ll be back.

Yesterday we haltered all the youngsters and worked with four of them in the round pen. Beginning to lead. Then I saddled Andie and Mandy. Starting daily work in a round pen in dirt and some rocks after being sedentary in a soft, straw laid stall can cause a horse to have sore hooves at first until they strengthen and adjust. Both girls have shown some soreness in a hind hoof, especially Mandy. Just lighter work for her today and that’s ok. I took her saddle off at the end and then threw it back on her. Getting them used to everything. Much of it is simply repetition til it’s second nature to them. She did great. Trey moved Andie around a bit and she seemed fine.
One more day left at the Moon then I’m back home to Canada on Wednesday.

Spicy girl Mandy got saddled today. Trey did a lot with her first to get her ready for her big moment. She blew it out of the water.

A full, great day. We worked four yearlings and the two older mares. Got the youngsters haltered & leading. Saddle pads on the mares. Andie was exceptional. Mandy is a bit more spicy..but got er done.
I again want to thank everyone who helped get me to @moon_mountain_sanctuary and the businesses @saddlehillranchcabins & @real.estate.with.morgan for their support. And of course @dawnolivieri for taking great care of me. She is a beautiful soul.(and I love her Dad!)
Gentling these horses to help get them adopted is a mission. It all comes from the heart and a place of pure, unadulterated love. I’ve seen it first hand from every single member of this team at the Moon.
The other trainer Trey and I are quite a pair. Each having our own individual strengths. And when combined, I believe produce incredible results. And I’ve learned from him. Much to pack up & take home. So grateful to every single one of you ❤️

Andie is a wild mare we’ve been working with. In a few days I formed a makeshift halter from a lead rope, and today she took the halter. First time leading, and she did awesome. Very happy with her!

We had two overnight thunderstorms here in Arkansas which put a damper on training the next day til early afternoon when the hot sun dried the training pen enough.
Another trainer by the name of Trey and I are working together on these horses. He’s a Navajo-Apache and a really nice guy. We’re working with some adult feral horses and yearlings. It’s going great. Rain is wonderful..but give us some dry conditions for right now please Mother Nature.
And thank you again @saddlehillranchcabins & @real.estate.with.morgan and the individuals for your sponsorship!
Videos to come, I swear. We’re just having to really jump in to make up time. P.s. it’s beautiful down here.

Tomorrow morning I’m Arkansas bound! (got my hair cut..it’s 33 degrees there still🔥) Off to work with wild horses. Again, I want to thank @saddlehillranchcabins & @real.estate.with.morgan for having my back. As well as the individuals who also supported me in this endeavour. And to @evanbrayshow for having me on the show a couple weeks ago to discuss my work with horses and a bit about this trip. You all mean so much to me. Beyond simple words. Thank you ❤️🐴
