In almost every way life feels like a performance in which everything has to be done perfectly. Perfect scores, perfect grades, perfect looks, you get the idea. And yet- life is an experience where it’s literally impossible to be perfect. In fact, as we walk through life, we almost always find ourselves broken. Broken hearted, broken by grief, broken by doubt- and broken by definition, is as far as you could possibly be from perfect.

But the thing is-

Jesus Christ loves broken things.

And when we give Him the parts of us that are broken—whether in our hearts, our lives, or our circumstances—He can take that brokenness and turn it into something different. Something better.

So when you look at yourself, and you notice all the things about you or about your life that feel broken, remember- Jesus Christ can heal anything, and He can even heal you. by @mck.rush

We hear over and over again the phrases “everything happens for a reason”, “supposed to happen”, and “meant to be”. And we hear these phrases so often that we begin to live our lives based on those beliefs. We basically go through life with the expectation that there is reasoning behind everything, a purpose to every tiny sliver and piece of existence. But when life gets hard, or the things that you want don’t work out, or the scholarship you were hoping for isn’t awarded to you, or you have to pick between two perfectly good things, it’s hard to believe that everything really does happen for a reason.

And I guess what’s helped me during times like this, is the fact that: “All things work together for our good for those who love God.” And I love that, because loving God is a choice and I feel like when we choose to love God, He can create something beautiful from it.

I feel like we really want to think that everything happens for a reason, we desperately want to make sense and reason of everything. But it’s probably a better mindset to let God make reason of everything that happens. Because no matter what happens in your life, no matter how hard things are, no matter what you are going through right now, if you choose to love God and let Him into your life He will create something beautiful.

But that is a choice. by @mck.rush
