This isn’t just a pretty coffee shop.

Hidden in Bangkok’s historic Talat Noi neighbourhood, 965bkk occupies a beautifully restored 200+ year-old Chinese merchant house.

Old wooden floors, textured walls, a leafy courtyard and little reminders of the building’s past, now mixed with coffee, art and design. There are knickknacks and prints for sale in the front, with cosy sofas and chairs to sip coffee on in the back.

We were “stuck” here during a thunderstorm and it was simply magical listening to the raindrops hit the courtyard.

Talat Noi is full of places where Bangkok’s history and its creative side collide.

This one is very worth finding ✨

My definitive ranking of the top five baby-loving destinations we’ve been to so far:

1. Thailand - 100000/10 excitement for babies. Will steal your baby for cuddles, make them special baby-friendly food, etc. Consider childcare sorted when out to dinner! There are high chairs in every restaurant and some have toys 🧸

2. Middle East - Bahrain, Oman and the UAE treat babies like royalty 👑, plus lush nappy changing rooms depending on where you are.

3. Italy - That Italian hospitality and warmth is just 🤌

4. UK and US tie - It comes down to the person or place you’re with/in. It’s tricky to pinpoint a vibe as a whole, but overall cute and positive 🤍 UK earns a few extra points for child-friendly pubs🍻 Some restaurants in the US clearly didn’t want the whole family in there (literally watched a server roll their eyes as we walked in lol). Staying with family makes it fab, but being out and about isn’t as convenient.

5. Spain - Slightly less baby fever as a whole, but wins in comfortability. It’s not as much of a shock horror situation for breastfeeding in public like the US and UK where people like to stare 👀🙄 It’s so relaxed and chill - no one cares. You do you and feed your baby! 🥰 But not as many high chairs in restaurants or changing stations, which is tricky when out and about.

The way the Thais made us feel so welcome as a family everywhere we went made the trip 🫶

Even on a crisp day 🍂 Very lucky to have grown up here - and sometimes it takes moving abroad to realise that. I love visiting downtown Frederick, Maryland and this last trip was the most special yet: going with my daughter.

Every visit for me must include:

(1) perusing the Emporium Antiques and all the thrift stores

(2) hitting all the delicious favourites - White Rabbit Gastropub, Brewer’s Alley, Lazy Fish, McClintock Distilling, Beans and Bagels… the list goes on and on (and on)

(3) admiring the architecture / dreaming about which house I’d love to move into 😍

(4) just wandering!

It’s historic, elegant, family-owned and has a story. I LOVE that. Why go for the cookie cutter chains when hotels like this exist?

Hotel Europäischer Hof Heidelberg is ✨special✨

It’s a privately owned five-star grand hotel in Heidelberg, Germany, with a history dating back to 1865, with classic interiors and loads of character blended with modern luxuries. The details? Immaculate. There’s also a rooftop spa with views of Heidelberg Castle and a fab location that makes exploring the city super easy.

We stayed in a standard double room so I can’t even imagine how luxe the comfort rooms and suites are 😍

Super family friendly - I still can’t get over the mini toddler dressing gown with embroidery for the spa. To die for 👑

Not delulu, just facts

✨if nobody’s sleeping we may as well be in Italy

✨ survival over structure

✨ shushing the baby on a Thai island > shushing the baby at home

✨if there’s a poo explosion, better to happen with a good view

✨ it’s all boosting their immune system - licking tables and all

✨ jet lag can’t be a thing they have 1037383 sleep regressions in the first 12 months

✨ the packing is temporary, the photos are forever

✨a messy flight doesn’t mean a messy holiday

✨your baby doesn’t need to remember it for it to be worth it

✨it’s okay to feel like you need a holiday after the holiday

✨you will get to skip the security queue and that is a beautiful thing

✨ it may be their first trip, but it’s also yours as a parent. remember that 💫

Why November is hands down the best month to visit Venice if you love slow travel ☕️

• Fewer crowds, more wandering
• Cooler temps, happier exploring
• Golden autumn light hits differently
• Aperitivo without the summer chaos
• Get lost down those little side streets
