As the years go by, my grief changes shape but the ache of losing him hasn’t eased. I still talk to him all the time, but it’s not the same. there’s so many moments I wish he could be a part of. so many things I wish I could ask him. people I wish so deeply he could meet. one more hug.

I carry you with me in everything I do, always. I find signs of you and from you often. signs that make me remember how sacred time is with the people you love. I tell people I love them. You should too. do it all while you still can, because sometimes tomorrow never comes.

I will still be learning to live without you for the rest of my life. your guidance teaches me how to be strong in tough times like these, but the most important thing has been not only how to survive the hardest days, but how to find joy and love in the midst of deep grief.
So that’s what I’ll do, what we must all do, for him and all those who can’t.

May we continue to honor those we love
May we speak their names
May we cherish the time we had
And may we hold onto the promise that one day, we will will be reunited again 🤍
