POSTS STORIES REELS

It has been eventful since moving to the southwest so far to say the least. There’s just two weeks left to see either of my new neon installations as part of the 2026 SURFACE Emerging Artists of New Mexico exhibition or New Mexico Glass Arts Festival. If you aren’t in-person, I also have a new interview with VoyageDenver out now. Or you can catch me in Taos this Thursday for the 48 hour film fest 🤞🏼 So much for a summer break…

You learned how to make the work.
But who taught you how to build a career around it?

Starting from Scratch is the first session of The Anatomy of an Artist: From Passion to Profession—a five-part series designed to give artists the practical tools, knowledge, and confidence to build a sustainable creative career.

In this first session, we’re getting down to the essentials: portfolios, CVs, résumés, artist bios and statements, studio visits, archives, and press releases—and, most importantly, how these pieces work together to support your practice.

Whether you’re just beginning to professionalize your practice or you’ve been figuring it out as you go, this is a place to start.

So much for summer break… by @mckenziefitzx

You’re looking at a 2026 SURFACE Emerging Artist of New Mexico 🌟 I took a break from making art until I had the idea for this series and am so grateful I could finally show them all together. Over the course of the last year it took more than 20+ hours bending each sign, countless hours painting, over 3 hours to code them, and somewhere around 8+ hours to install. Every time I finish a new piece and installation I learn something new, which would not have been possible if not for the wonderful team at @harwoodartcenter I moved to New Mexico on the whim that I would find a new version of myself and so far it’s already been more than I could have asked for in the best ways imaginable.
