This is Asia, a dear friend we met in Pakistan last trip. She has been ministering to street children and widows since before we met her. We are so blessed to be a small part of her ministry (Pure Religion Ministries) and now she is able to spiritually and physically bless those around her even more! I love the “Blessing” envelopes she gives the widows! This is a Sunday service in her small home🥰 by @mcmahon_73

Yesterday we took Mom to our favorite restaurant on the American River. Though she has declined so much and seems to be fading away because of her dementia she still loves to get out. I’m going to soak up every last moment I have with her. Someday soon she will be whole and lacking nothing in the arms of her Savior and that’s what comforts me during this season by @mcmahon_73

Mom’s 96th birthday party today! Her cousin, Ina, came all the way from Texas to be here. I’m always struck by the age difference but Mom’s mother was the oldest of five and Ina’s father was the youngest of the five! I loved seeing them sing together❤️ by @mcmahon_73

I wanted to share another friend from Pakistan, Asia Barkat’s ministry to widows and orphans in her neighborhood. We had the privilege of visiting and seeing her ministry and heart for those around her. The children actually live in the dump. There are no welfare programs or help for Christians in need. by @mcmahon_73

42 years ago today… homemade wedding and bridesmaids dresses… a free venue including a communion stump and pathway of branches, music by our talented friends, cake and brunch by our talented friends, campground reception with picnic tables and dirt dance floor and the most beautiful decorations of pine trees and a lake…. It may have only cost us 200 but to us it was the best wedding ever! (Although I would have had our daughter Bethany as the photographer had she been around😂) by @mcmahon_73

I’m still trying to process how someone who has been such a big part of our lives for so many years, who has lived so long we really felt she’d be here forever, is gone from this earth. Gigi, Nana, you are missed… today I was thinking about things I will miss about her… one of her many talents was telling a story. She would somehow embellish it to make it larger than life. It always made me laugh! She came to visit us in Kenya a number of times. One of her stories was the elephant that lumbered right next to her tent when we were tent camping on safari. She was all alone in her tent and could feel the wind that and smell its wild smell as it ran by! Here is a moment in time the morning after her elephant scare! Mother’s Day with our new friends, Asia and her family! I want to express how wonderful the people are here! So welcoming and hospitable. They rarely see foreigners here and love to take pictures with us! It was hard to make it through our tourist day in old town Lahore, so many wanted to talk to us and take pictures! I won’t miss the heat or the dirty, dusty and noisy cities but I will miss the people and the friends we have made! by @mcmahon_73
