Guest tickets

How many guest tickets can I get?

Each graduand is guaranteed two guest tickets.

You can opt in on the RSVP form in Tassel to be notified if extra tickets become available after reviewing final attendance numbers.

Regalia

What do I wear at convocation?

Many students choose to dress up for this special occasion.

All graduands will be loaned the appropriate regalia when they check-in for their ceremony.

Diplomas

What name will be on my diploma?

Your diploma will display your primary name in Mosaic.

If you need to update your name, submit a Primary Name Change service form in MacHub by October 23, 2026.

Photos

Can I take photos in my regalia with my diploma?

Our regalia return policy requires that you return your regalia within one hour after the ceremony in exchange for your diploma.

The Alumni Welcome Event will have photo opportunities and gowns to borrow.

Photos

Where can I find photos
from the ceremony?

After you cross the stage, a professional portrait will be taken. Within two weeks of your graduation, GradImages will email you instructions on how to access your photo.

General event photos can be found on McMaster’s convocation Flickr account.

Happy fall semester! 🍁🗓 As the term continues, take note of the important dates and deadlines to keep on your radar:

October 12-18: Mid-term recess
October 12-16: Office of the Registrar in-person support moves to Togo Salmon Hall (TSH) 111
October 13-16: Spring/summer 2026 term deferred exams
October 24: Full-time OSAP deadline for the fall-term courses

Calling all Fall grads! 📣

Your RSVP form for convocation opens this Friday. Swipe through our Graduation Preparation Guide to make sure you’re all set to cross the stage in November.

1. Confirm you are approved to graduate

Before anything else, confirm your graduation status in Mosaic.

You must be approved to graduate even if you do not plan to attend the scheduled ceremony.

• How to verify your Graduation Status in Mosaic: Mosaic > Student Centre > My Academics > View my graduation status

Undergraduate Students: If you’re missing any requirements, schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.

Graduate Students: Reach out to your Graduate Administrator to confirm that no further actions are needed.

2. Verify your name for your diploma

Your diploma will display your primary name in Mosaic.

• To check your primary name in Mosaic: Mosaic > Student Centre > Personal Information > Names > Primary Name

If you need to update your name, submit a Primary Name Change service form in MacHub by October 23, 2026 to avoid a replacement fee.

Prefer a different name to be announced at your ceremony? You can specify that when you RSVP in Tassel. This does not change the name printed on your diploma.

3. Check your student account

Ensure there are no outstanding balances on your student account in Mosaic. You cannot receive your diploma until all outstanding balances are paid.

4. RSVP for your ceremony

You must RSVP for your ceremony even if you are not planning to attend.

Monitor your McMaster email for an email invitation to access Tassel. The RSVP form will open September 25, 2026.

The RSVP form lets you verify important details, provide your preferred name and share pronunciation details. Please read all prompts carefully.

Not attending your ceremony? Indicate ‘No’ on the form under ‘Attendance’ and follow the instructions for diploma delivery or pickup.

5. Claim your guest tickets

Each graduand is guaranteed two guest tickets and is responsible for forwarding them to their guests. Guest tickets are required due to venue capacity.

Graduands can opt in through their RSVP form to be notified if extra tickets become available. Availabi by @mcmasteruregistrar

It’s almost time for the first week of classes! 🍂📚 As September approaches, here are a few important dates and deadlines to keep on your radar:

September 8: Fall-term classes begin
September 16: Last day for enrolment and course changes (add/drop) for the fall term
September 25: Fall-term fee payment due
September 30: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - no assessments, assignments due or classes
